🐾 Meet Tori, who visited us recently for her puppy vaccination 🐾

We loved meeting Tori, and we think she enjoyed her visit, too. She took her time exploring the clinic and getting pats from… everyone!

Tori went home with a puppy pack including some treats, a health passport and information for new owners. She did a very good job at sitting so we could take a photo 🥹

🍑 Patient of the Month - Peaches 🍑

Peaches was treated at the clinic recently for an aural hematoma. This happens when blood vessels break on the inside of the ear flap, causing swelling. This is most commonly due to excessive head shaking, often because of an underlying ear infection or irritation.

In the second photo, you can see the stitches Dr Cindy placed to prevent further damage to the ear after all that excess blood was removed from the area. We are happy to say all bandages and stitches have been removed. Peaches has recovered beautifully, thanks to her dedicated family. Well done Peaches! ❤️

🦷 Guess who popped in to visit us for their own dental procedure? Twila’s brother, Halo! 😇

Thankfully, no teeth were extracted, but Halo did get a thorough cleaning treatment. This treatment starts with a comprehensive physical exam of all teeth, while your furred friend is nice and relaxed so the vet can have a good look and feel. This is an important first step to identify any serious dental health issues that are difficult to pick up on while your pet is awake and… not enjoying us prodding their gums and teeth! (We don’t blame them, we’d bite our dentists too, if we could.)

Next, we scrub away all that plaque and tartar on the teeth, which eliminates bacteria and promotes beautiful smelling breath. To end the procedure, we use a polishing agent on each tooth and a mouthwash for that squeaky clean finish.

Halo went home with a complimentary dental home care kit so he can get comfortable using his own toothbrush in the future 😉

🦷 Twila visited the clinic for a dental procedure recently and presented with tooth resorption. This is a painful condition where the body breaks down the normal tooth structures, resulting in a poorly functioning and very painful tooth.

📸 In the photo you can see the gum has grown up the crown of the tooth and looks very sore! The x-ray shows how the tooth and its structures have disintegrated.

After having the affected teeth removed by Dr Emma, Twila will be able to chew food easier and pain free. Twila’s owner told us she’s not a Schitt’s Creek fan, but we’re sure she will enjoy more “harvest smoothies” at home now 😺

☑️Think your pet may have a similar condition? Call us today to book in a dental health check!

Did you know specialised dental diets are formulated to prevent and treat tartar build up?
Luckily for Melody, she's already on one! Melody had a dental cleaning procedure last week and posed beautifully for some photos next to her favourite food. By staying on this diet to slow the progression of her dental disease, Melody can go longer without needing another dental procedure. Plus, she took home some new dental treats and a toothbrush to add to her dedicated homecare regime.

🦷 Daily dental homecare matters for pets too.
A regular homecare routine can help slow the progression of dental disease and may reduce how often your pet needs professional dental cleanings under anaesthetic.

The ideal time to start homecare is when pets are young (10-12months old), or after a dental scale and polish — when the mouth is clean and easier to maintain.

Throughout August and September, we’re including a complimentary Dental Homecare Sample Kit with every dental procedure to help support continued care at home.

If you haven’t started your pet on a homecare routine, or feel your current approach could use a refresh, book a complimentary Dental Consult with one of our nurses to create a personalised plan for you and your pet.

Flossie’s family took advantage of our Dental Month promotions and brought her in for a much-needed dental clean last week. As you can see in these photos, her gums were quite sensitive and inflamed due to a build-up of tartar. 😬

The good news? After her professional clean, Flossie is feeling so much more comfortable — and her smile is looking better than ever! 😄💕

Her well-deserved reward? A tasty bag of dental treats to help keep those pearly whites clean! 🦴🐾
