Why give treats during consultations?

to help reduce fear and anxiety, making the dog more relaxed and cooperative during exams, which in turn makes it safer for the vet and staff.

Hi everyone at the Dog Clinic 🐕 🙂

Thankyou for my voucher and treats I got in the mail this morning. 🙂 I'm a lucky boy!!

I really enjoyed my treats 😋 mum said she is going to buy me some with my voucher next week when I visit.

Dad has been giving me my medicine and giving me some gentle leg massages as his physiotherapist said that may help too. I get a neck and back massage every morning when I wake her up 🙂🤣

Did you know that the tiny vertical groove between a dog’s nose and upper lip actually has a purpose? It’s called the vegetal groove (or philtrum), and it’s not there by accident!

Each time a dog licks its lips, a bit of saliva collects in that groove. Through a process called capillarization, the moisture travels up to the nose — helping keep it damp.

And why does that matter? Because a moist nose is much better at capturing and holding scents from the air. 🌬️✨ That’s part of what makes a dog’s sense of smell so incredibly powerful!
