*THE IMPORTANCE OF MICROCHIPPING*

We regularly have stray animals brought into the clinic. Recently, we have seen multiple cats and dogs with outdated microchip details — or no microchip at all. This can make reuniting pets with their owners much more difficult and may mean these animals need to be transferred to The Dogs Home or Ten Lives for ongoing care.
A quick check of your pet’s microchip details could make all the difference if they ever go missing. Our nurses are happy to scan your pet’s microchip at your next visit, check that the details are up to date, and advise you on how to update the registry information.
If your pet does not have a microchip and you would like one implanted, please contact us on 62443366 to talk to one of our reception team.

Eastern Shore Vet Hospital will be CLOSED from 5pm CHRISTMAS EVE and re-opening at 7.45am MONDAY 5th JANUARY 2026.
Please ensure you have enough medication to see your pets through the holiday period. In case of an emergency please contact Animal Emergency Service Hobart on 1300 302 912.

***RENOVATIONS UPDATE - Temporary closure***

This week the clinic will be CLOSED Thursday 23rd October (Hobart Show Day), Friday 24th October and Saturday 25th October so our builders can upgrade the electrics.
At times, our after hours phone message may not be accessible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The old section of the clinic is now a skeleton ready for a modern upgrade thanks to the fantastic building team at Build It Tas. See pictures below.
