🎓 NDTF Student Week – Day 5! 🐾

And just like that, we’ve reached the final day of student week! 🙌

Today, our students put their skills into practice by presenting their desensitisation class instructions in a mock group class setting, receiving valuable feedback to take forward into their future training.

They also got a behind-the-scenes look at a behavioural session with dog-reactive Cattle Dog Nugget and helper dog Merlo, seeing firsthand how we approach specific behavioural challenges and work towards positive outcomes. 🐶

And of course, after a big week of learning, our incredible helper dogs deserved some fun of their own in the yards! 🐕💨

A huge well done to all the students for their hard work, enthusiasm and willingness to learn throughout the week. We can’t wait to see where your training journeys take you! See you for Block 2! 👏🎉

🐾 NDTF Student Week | Day 4! 🎓

Another big day of learning, problem-solving and getting hands-on with our four-legged teachers! 🐶

Today’s sessions included:

✨ Build Your Own Training Session – putting inducement and compulsion into practice.

🐕 Return to Heel & Focus – building precision, engagement and connection.

🧠 The Shaping Game – stepping into the paws of our training dogs! Students got to experience what it’s like to work things out through trial and error, learning how our timing, criteria and rewards can make all the difference.

🤝 Socialisation Class Preparation – getting ready to put their skills into practice in a group environment.

Of course, there was plenty of fun along the way, with our demo dogs continuing to be the real stars of the show! ⭐🐾

14/10/2026

🐾 NDTF Student Week | Day 3 🎓

Another day of learning, practical application and plenty of tail wags! 🐶

Today, our students got hands-on with compulsion, learning how directional lead pressure can guide dogs into position, before exploring shaping techniques to build more complex skills. 🦮🧠

And of course, it wouldn’t be a complete day without some fun along the way! Our students and demo dogs all got their fair share of enjoyment between the learning sessions. 🐕❤️

Developing skills, building understanding and putting theory into practice — one day at a time! 🙌
