What a great way to finish off a big week—meeting this big, beautiful boy, Motley!
The main goals for this guy are to stop the running and jumping at the back colorbond fence when people walk by, and to work on his reactivity towards other dogs on walks.
First things first—we’re going to build a fun, structured game of tug with some clear rules. It’s not just about play; it’s a great way to teach impulse control and communication.
At the moment, once Motley steps outside the front door, there’s zero engagement with his owner—so that’s our next big focus. Once we’ve got that and some leash skills happening, we’ll start to reintroduce dog distractions in a way that sets him up for success.
He’s a bit of a softy underneath all that size, which just means he’s going to thrive with some clear guidance and consistent boundaries.
