Although June may be during our Winter Senior focus, we are still enjoying plenty of puppy and kitten visits. Adorable Barney is a poodle x pup who came to see Dr Weronika recently for his final puppy vaccination. Check out that smile! It’s definitely worthy of a Tongues Out Tuesday post.

At Rochedale Vet, during the months of June and July, exclusive senior promo aimed at our Golden Oldies. We love the saying “Their faces may be silver but their hearts are pure gold.”
This year we are once again offering a comprehensive senior testing package at a special rate during this period.

For $400, you will receive $550 value. This includes;
- Full health examination with one of our gentle and caring veterinarians.
- Comprehensive blood tests and urinalysis.

Taking a proactive approach to your senior pets health not only ensures a better quality of life for your furry friend but also often leads to more effective and less costly treatment options.
These tests will assess the organ function of your pet and alert us to any concerns as they age. Our vets can also thoroughly examine your pets joints and discuss with you whether they are needing some arthritis support, particularly important in the cooler months of the year.

Call the clinic or book online for your Senior Pets package.

MEET THE TEAM:

Nurse Peta (cuddling Freya the Frenchie pup).

You may have noticed we have welcomed a few new faces to the Rochedale team lately and we are excited to introduce you to our new nurse Peta.

Peta comes to us with five years experience in the veterinary industry. She has also worked as a pet groomer so we are excited to have her skills added to our nursing team.

Peta has two beloved dogs; an 8 year old Boston terrier called Winston and a 2 year old Jack Russell, Cora.

If Peta could have one super skill, she says it would be "to be
able to talk to animals or to be able to get the perfect blood draw every time."

After a stressful day, she likes to go for a long walk in the bush with her dogs, and she recently started teaching herself to play ukulele!

We are all enjoying getting to know Peta, and are thankful for all she brings to the team at Rochedale Vet. Welcome Peta!

Meet Spike. He is on the most placid cats we've ever met and we all love cuddles with Spike when he comes to see us. Spike was our very first patients to take part in our 2026 Senior Health promotion. He came in with a sore paw and Dr Weronika saw he was the perfect candidate to make the most of the Senior Health Package. As always, Spike was on his best behavior and allowed us to take a blood sample, monitor his blood pressure and even give him some subcutaneous fluids for hydration.

Spike was very patient with Dr Weronika as she examined his sore paws. We recognize the importance of arthritis and joint health in senior pets. Many senior pets suffer from arthritis, which can impact their mobility and quality of life. Our senior testing includes assessments and recommendations specifically tailored to address arthritis and joint health, ensuring your pet stays active and comfortable as they age.

This June and July, we are celebrating our senior pets in June and July! Our exclusive senior promo is back and this program is designed to ensure the health and happiness of our beloved furry companions in their golden years.

At Rochedale Vet, we understand the importance of early detection and proactive care for senior pets, which is why we're offering a comprehensive senior testing package at a special rate during this period.

For $400, you will receive $550 value. This includes;
* Full health examination with one of our gentle and caring veterinarians.
* Comprehensive blood tests and urinalysis.

As your pets age, their organs gradually deteriorate, and they may lose their ability to function correctly. Early detection through senior testing helps us maintaining their health and prevents illness during your pet’s senior years.

To keep your pet happy and healthy for many years, we recommend chatting with our team about whether the Senior Health Package is appropriate for your beloved furry family member.

It isn't every day we get to meet a Papillon puppy, but when we do, you can be assured that we'll all be lining up for cuddles.

The Papillon breed got their name thanks to their beautiful feathered ears - they are as magnificent as butterfly wings, and the word Papillon is french for butterfly.

Sweet Papillon X puppy Maple came to visit us last week and she was certain that her ears meant she had flying powers, favouring nurse Jesse's shoulder as the perfect perch. Isn't she beautiful?

📚🐾 Continuing education is such an important part of veterinary medicine. Last week Dr Felicity and Dr Weronika attended a veterinary conference hosted by the Australian Veterinary Association.

By attending the conference they were able to expand their knowledge in Feline idiopathic cystitis,neurological conditions, nutrition, acute diarrhoea treatment and learn about new upcoming medications.

Our vets are constantly learning and growing their knowledge to provide the very best care for your pets 💛🐾🐶🐱

It's Tuesday today and definitely time for another Tongues Out Tuesday. It's been a while since we celebrated Tongues Out Tuesday. We’d absolutely love to see some Tongues Out Tuesday photos you may have taken at home. Dr Kim’s favourite photo will receive a free bag of delicious Chicken Train-Up treats.

Lily is such a sweet staffy girl, we love it when she comes to visit as she always greets us with tail wags and gentle kisses.

Lily recently had surgery on her paw and has been the perfect patient as she recovers. Paw issues always take extra time to heal as walking and movement tends to make it very difficult to keep the wound protected.

The week that Lily had surgery was very rainy, so our nursing team fashioned a protective paw cover out of an IV fluid bag. The fluid bags are perfect for this as they are soft but very strong.

Lily was such a champion for bandage changes and remained patient and stoic for every appointment. We think she deserves a bravery award plus extra tasty treats!

Happy Friday! We’d thought we’d end the week with another adorable video from our foster kitten. He’s looking forward to a relaxing weekend after a very busy week supervising the Rochedale Vet nurses.
