🌟One of the questions I get asked the most:
🌟Do kittens keep their blue eyes?
🌟No — that baby blue is only temporary.
All kittens are born with blue eyes because their iris hasn’t developed pigment yet.
When does the colour change?
Usually between 5–10 weeks, you’ll start to see the blue slowly fade as their real eye colour comes through.
🌟What will their final eye colour be?
It depends on genetics and coat colour:
• Blue and lilac British Shorthairs usually develop deep gold or copper eyes
• Blue point (colourpoint) British Shorthairs keep blue eyes for life
Some kittens show their true eye colour clearly by around 10–12 weeks, but it can take several months to fully develop — especially for deep copper tones.

Watching their eye colour change is honestly one of the nicest parts of raising kittens.
