Dear valued clients, friends and supporters.

As many of you are aware, earlier this year I contracted long Covid. This was followed by a decline in my health and repeated illness.

The unpredictable nature and complexity of my symptoms, especially recently, has impacted my ability to continue delivering training services to the standards that my clients and their dogs deserve.

For these reasons, I have made the difficult decision to suspend offering services for 2025, whilst I seek further diagnosis and treatment.

I am deeply grateful for your unwavering support of CMC and your understanding during this challenging time.
I look forward to returning stronger and more focused, ready to serve you and your wonderful dogs once again in the future.

When choosing long lasting treats to keep your dog's need to chew satiated (and especially important with puppies).
Ensure you always go as natural as possible.

🙅‍♂️🚫 Never any type of rawhide, EVER. It's nasty, dangerous stuff full of chemicals and a huge choking risk.
🪥❓ Consider your dog's teeth - if you think it could be too hard, it likely is.
🐄 Look for things like beef trachea and bully/bladder sticks.
🦌 Leave chews like antlers and deer shins for adult teeth.
🦘If you Can find Deer or Roo ears that are dehydrated with the fur still on, our dogs 💜 these! Natural Treats with fur on are not only safe for your dog but also provide an excellent natural teeth and intestines clean.

Setting your pup up for success during downtime means making sure they have something safe to chew on. Chewing releases endorphins for dogs, helping calm them and is a genetic necessity.

👍Always supervise with puppies and food and remove if treat has become hazardous at all.
If you do need to remove your dog's chew, trade them for something else higher value rather than snatching or forcing it off them - this tip will help you avoid the development of Resource Guarding food from human hands!

For any new puppy people out there or those with smaller breeds especially, I came across this Play Space for sale at ALDI.

Yep it's for kids but how useful could it be to manage all your dog's things in smaller spaces! And if it were made for dogs it would cost twice as much. 😅

Would work to take to the park or river. Bundle up all your pups dirty or wet things afterwards and keep your car clean. 🏞️🚗(Mat doesn't come with silly blocks).

Check out 6mths old Kobe, First Time properly in the Water - all the confidence, recalling like a champ and pushing himself through in the wind and waves 🌊🏆 to return happily to his awesome humans! 🥰

💯 Kobe's people have been motivated and put in the time, communication and consistency for a solid relationship with their Puppy, and are now seeing the benefits of their commitment.

Kobe walks loosely and politely on leash, Auto-sits at every crossing, and is an absolute Ace at PLACE and SIT-STAY. He is developing as a loving, clever, well balanced young dog. 🐕
Kobe is on session 4 of his customised 8 session Puppy & Adolescence Development Program, and has been a model pupil. 🥰🎓 One of our original goals was for him to enjoy the water and swimming. 🌊💦✅

Two big reasons we've become known as the local "staffy lady" - understanding of Prey based games and rewards, and we're all about that relationship!

Excellent video from Pro Dog, on why training high prey drive breeds including Staffords, should look a little different than standard training in order to really be successful.

Although we specialise in bull breeds here at CMC we have experience with and love to train all breeds!

We were in Maylands exploring the other day and it was hot - this area Loki was really thinking about going in the water had a bunch of hazards..

It's So nice not having to worry about or stay on top of your dog when they're off lead, Loki does his own thing exploring and I enjoy taking photos..but he keeps his listening ears on and always stays within sight. 🐶🙌

I personally consider off lead reliability one of our key skills that all of our suitable clients work towards. Funnily enough,off leash reliability begins with on leash skills and mechanics, as you build that relationship and trust.

✅Tip - keep your empty toilet rolls, cardboard boxes,egg cartons - they make excellent free enrichment. Enrichment games help fulfil your dogs genetic needs - seeking, sniffing, licking, chewing, tearing..Use your dogs regular meals or favourite treats! 🐕

We needed a fan replaced at home, and of course the dog trainer in me rescues the "trash" from the electrician as all I can think is -
"How Good Are These Massive Free Puzzles!?!" 🤣

This adorable little boy is Kobe, 18 weeks, Staffordshire Bull Terrier pup 😍🥺🤗

This guy has it all - looks, intelligence, the sweetest nature and even came with an in-built off switch. In a SBT pup 😲🤯 😂 His owners chose their responsible breeder well and it does show even in these early days.

Kobe is on session 3 of an 8 session Custom Puppy Program that will see him and his people prioritising relationship, communication and trust during all of their training together.

Including developing :
✔️functional and enthusiastic obedience.
✔️manners & boundaries in the home.
✔️correct greetings with humans/ when not to greet.
✔️ Positive exposure and safe, appropriate socialisation in varied public settings.
✔️On and off leash walking skills.
✔️Recalls and handler engagement. ✔️Playing games & enrichment with his humans.
✔️ Appropriate play and reading other dogs.
☑️ All real life behaviours that will serve young Kobe well into maturity, whilst providing his people all the skills and education they need to ensure their pup thrives and they can do all the things together! ✅🤙

Little man has Excellent Food Drive and is proving to be somewhat of an Over Achiever😂❣️
I believe Kobe and his devoted people have great potential for dog sports in, so we're building our foundations with that potential in mind.🤙🥇
