⚠️SYDNEY HEAT STROKE ALERT⚠️

Hot weather is forecast tomorrow onwards in parts of Sydney. Familiarise yourself and your family with the dangers of heat to pets.

Heat stroke is common during high temperatures and is is a serious, life-threatening condition that can cause death or permanent damage to your pet’s internal organs. The window between the first signs and a critical emergency is very short, so knowing what to look for is essential.

Signs of heat stroke include: lethargy, excessive panting or difficulty breathing & sudden collapse.

While all dogs are at risk, flat-faced brachycephalic breeds (like bulldogs and pugs) are particularly vulnerable. Their short snouts make it harder for them to cool down by panting, so extra caution is needed on hot or humid days like tomorrow.

Keep your dog indoors in a cool, shaded area & ensure there’s ALWAYS fresh water available. Avoid walking or exercising your dog.

If you suspect your pet is overheating or suffering from heat stroke, proceed to SASH 24/7 Emergency immediately.

⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE ⚠️

We have recently been informed that commencing from Monday 13th October - Friday 31st October Foxshield poison baits (containing 1080) will be buried at the below reserves

- Ted Horwood Reserve
- Eric Mobs Reserve
- Excelsior Reserve

This is lethal to both cats and dogs and the bushland reserves that are listed above will be closed to dogs (including on a lead) during and up to 4 weeks after the program

Dogs can return to the parks from Saturday 29th November

Kellyville Ridge Veterinary Hospital is a family owned practice that has been operating in Western Sydney for over 14 years. Our dedicated vets and nurses are all avid animal lovers who aim to make your pet feel at ease with a caring and gentle approach to treatment and consultations. The parents of our patients are given all the options and aren’t pressured into one treatment option.

OUR EQUIPMENT Our purpose built veterinary hospital is fitted with fully equipped examination rooms, pharmaceutical stores, surgical theatre and diagnostic equipment including in-house IDEXX laboratory machines and digital x-ray. We provide on-the-spot assistance for nearly all pet health and medical needs. Our staff regularly attend Continuing Education events to maintain the highest professional standards.

To help reduce waiting times consultations are by appointment, except in EMERGENCIES.
