This sweet boy needs all the support he can get.

Many of you know Cavaliers are our great love, fostering and adopting from Cavalier Rescue Qld over the years. Our very own Buddy became a foster to adoption through them.

48 hours ago, Kingsley was walking. Today, he isn’t.

At just 3 years old, Kingsley suffered a sudden IVDD episode. A ruptured disc in his spine put pressure on his spinal cord, leaving him unable to walk and in urgent need of treatment.

It happened so quickly.

One moment he was fine, and the next... His back legs stopped working.

Scans confirmed how serious it was, and surgery became his best chance at preventing permanent damage.

Last night Kingsley underwent emergency spinal surgery to relieve that pressure and (hopefully) give him the ability to walk again.

It was a decision that had to be made immediately, and one we couldn’t say no to.

The surgery alone is over $12,000, with ongoing costs ahead for his care, medication, and the long process of rehabilitation.

We are feeling the weight of this.

He is still so young, and he doesn’t understand why he can’t get up.

We’re doing everything we can to give him a chance at recovery but we can’t do it alone.

You may not realise, but we welcome reactive, anxious and nervous dogs in our classes (we lovingly call them Spicy).
