As the weather begins to get warmer, grass seeds will be in abundance!
Grass seeds can cause havoc for our furry friends. Due to their shape, grass seeds can become embedded in your pets skin and continue to burrow deep into the tissue. This can lead to painful swellings and abscesses
Common places for grass seeds to get stuck include
- paws
- ears
- in the coat or over the body
If you notice any new swellings, abnormal discharge or your pet excessively licking an area, we recommend bringing your pet in for an assessment.
We encourage you to check over your dogs coat and paws after every time your pet has been walking or running through grass
