If you want your horse to stand still -

The Move-Over cue is the gateway.

Keep your feet still and ask your horse to move over, back to your chosen spot.

If your horse comes forward, ask to go back without pushing through the head, direct pressure towards the front of your horse’s shoulder.

If they back away from where you have asked them to stand still, hold some lead rope pressure and ask them forward without moving your feet.

Indicate to your horses hip, to move forward.

Also a great technique to include in float training.

It’s Easy to Teach Our Horse the Wrong Thing Accidentally.

Releasing pressure at the wrong time, not applying pressure at the right time both contribute to confused signals.

My Connected Cue system solves many problems and strengthens the polite and cooperative response from your horse.

🐴 Why won't your horse get back on the float after a competition?
It loaded fine on the way there… so what changed?

The answer might surprise you — and it could be as simple as travel sickness, a bad experience you didn't notice, or a training gap that's easy to fix.

Here's the truth: if your horse won't self-load, it's not fully confident or competent in the float space. And that's something we can change.

✅ Teach your horse to self-load
✅ Build real confidence — not just compliance
✅ Gain lifetime skills that work with every horse

Want to know how? DM me, visit my website, or check out my online course.

Sarah had been avoiding float training for months.
Her horse would back out so violently he busted the bum bar. Loading required two people. Sarah was super anxious about going anywhere — and never knew if she'd get him home.
In just 4 days using the Float Easy 7-step system, everything changed.
Sarah's horse now loads calmly and stays quietly while she secures the back — and she does it completely on her own.
