Helping Toby the ex polo pony,now trail rider,team penner and all round star horse become more comfortable,sou d and supported by using wide,breakover toe aluminium front shoes with vettec solepak for cushioning and comfort on rocky trails
On his hinds he has aluminium shoes fully supporting him back to the bulbs of gus heels for hard stops and fast turns while team penning
Look foward to seeing how this improves him

Had a qh today that has been suffering from sore front fetlocks as well as some slight tendon swelling and pain on flex and examination,he has also had some swelling in the hind legs particularly after trotting and cantering while being ridden on trails.
The solution is wide toe heartbar shoes in front with supersoft solepak to give him concussion absorption and provide his hoof capsule with support and width,to help make him more comfortable.
His hind shoeing consisted of wide aluminium shoes also with supersoft solepak again to adsorb force and concussion to make his@ hind feet supported and comfortable
Looking foward to his continued progression

During the last 2 weeks here at Sydney Royal Easter Show it's been busy,plenty of fix ups shoeings and assisting lame horses.
I was lucky enough to shoe the champion Clydesdale of the show and help a pony who was lame and with a shoeing package using wide aluminium shoes,combined with vetted sole pak,he was second place in his class,looking foward to heading home tomorrow and getting back to work

Hoof balance,comfort and support were key focus points
With a continued shoeing cycle there should be significant improvement in their hooves in the upcoming months

Back again for another year as the farrier for Sydney Royal Easter Show,Sadie's having a ball,eating sleeping and making new mates
It's been a busy start yesterday shoeing everything from big perchrons to mini ponies and all sizes in-between
This morning was an interesting start with a mystery lameness,so the best idea in my opinion was a pair of heartbar fronts with dental impression material for comfort and support

Not so farrier related,this time but we have a new team member of Breakthrough Hoofcare,a very big and warm welcome to Sadie the golden cocker spaniel puppy,she's only 8 weeks old but she's just beautiful and so adorable
Her favourite things are typical of a cocker spaniel,she eats and sleeps mostly,I'm looking foward to getting her out and about and meeting all of our wonderful clients 😀 🐶
