Our facility in Craigieburn is home to our lifesaving animal shelter, where, to-date, we have rescued, rehabilitated, and ethically rehomed over 12,000 animals and assisted countless pet owners to keep their beloved pets during times of hardship via our Community Outreach Programs. ique relationship and why it should be championed. We are dedicated to providing our community with accessible resources and support, high standards of care, and compassion in order to keep pets and their people together where they belong. Over the past decade, we have embarked on a journey to evaluate the needs of animals (and their owners) in our community, to identify barriers and find innovative ways to deal with the grass root problems that see companion animals being abandoned. We aim to strengthen the human-animal bond and confront animal abandonment at its root causes. Through innovative programs, accessible services, community education and public advocacy, we have become a community resource hub for pet owners and an unwavering champion for animals who need us most. Our focus is to keep community pets with the families that love them by offering preventative pet retention programs, which work to avoid pets from needing assistance in the first place.

Sometimes, working in a shelter can be hard.
Long days, endless phone calls from families in crisis and so many animals in need of our help.
On days like this, sometimes you just need a moment to breathe… and a big, warm hug. 🧡

That’s where Pumpkin comes in.

This beautiful 7-year-old Great Dane X has an incredible sense for when someone needs a little extra comfort. Whether you’re taking a minute to catch your breath outside, or trying to get through a stack of paperwork, Pumpkin will quietly make her way over and gently rest her big head on your shoulder as if to say, “I’ve got you.” 🥰

When the day feels heavy, her kind, watchful eyes have a way of slowing everything down and there’s something grounding about the soft thump of her tail against your leg.

Like many pet owners, its often these quiet moments shared with an animal that carry our team through the harder days, reminding us that connection goes both ways. That while we work hard to give them safety, healing, and love… they often give that right back to us in ways we didn’t even know we needed.

This tiny little floof is Baz 🧡

While he may look like a fluffy little ball of sass, you’d never guess how much this tiny Ragdoll kitten has already been through in his short life…

At just 8 weeks old, Baz came into our care alongside his mum after their owner found themselves facing a serious crisis at home and could no longer give them the care they desperately needed. Surrendering them was an incredibly difficult decision, made purely out of love and the hope that they would find safety and a second chance.

When Baz arrived, it was clear that this precious little man needed extra support. As the runt of his litter, he was heartbreakingly undernourished and incredibly small for his age. Although he’s almost 9 weeks old, he weighs about the same as a 3–4-week-old kitten. 💔

But despite everything he’s faced, Baz hasn’t lost his spark…

Now safe in his loving foster home, he’s receiving around-the-clock care, nourishment, and monitoring to help him grow into the healthy young kitten he deserves to be. Every full little belly, every nap curled up safely in our arms, and every tiny milestone feels like a victory for this brave little soul.

And through it all, Baz’s endearing personality continues to shine. He’s playful, curious and full of cheeky energy, keeping everyone entertained with his squeaky little meows and adventurous spirit. 🥰

For such a tiny kitten, Baz has the biggest heart and an even bigger determination to keep going. We can’t wait to watch this little fighter thrive! 🧡

How cute is little Garthie?! 🧡🐾

Looking at this playful little ginger boy now, you’d never guess how shy he was when he first arrived in our care. Unsure about his new surroundings, Garthie would hide quietly under the sink, watching the world with big, cautious eyes.

But with patience, love and encouragement from his wonderful foster carer (and her two resident cats) Garthie has slowly started coming out of his shell.

He’s still a little shy, but once he feels safe, Garthie is fun and full of cheeky ginger kitten energy! He LOVES to play and zoom and would love a little kitty friend to help him feel brave! 🧡

How sweet is this peaceful moment captured between Jerry and his foster carer? 🥺🧡

The way his tiny paw rests gently on her hand, and how his tail slips softly through her fingers. Little reminders that let him know that he’s no longer alone and that there’s someone there now to keep him safe, warm and loved.

When we say fostering saves lives, we often think about the big transformations.
Sick animals nursed back to health with round the clock care. Traumatised animals learning to leave their past behind and trust the warmth of a home and a family once more.

But healing also happens in the quiet moments.

Gentle pats that calm and soothe. Kind words whispered and repeated throughout the day. A steady, loving presence that teaches them humans can be kind, comforting and safe.
