Just like with people, some of the most serious dental issues in pets are hidden beneath the surface. That’s why dental X-rays are a vital part of a thorough dental procedure.

At our clinic, we use dental X-rays to:
✅ Detect damage to teeth that might not be visible on the surface
✅ Identify hidden infections or abscesses
✅ Assess bone loss caused by periodontal disease
✅ Decide whether a tooth can be saved or needs to be removed

Because pets can’t stay still like we can, these X-rays are taken while your pet is under general anaesthetic during their dental procedure. This allows us to work safely and thoroughly - without stress or discomfort for your furry friend.

While we’ll miss her incredible care, dedication, and all the purr-fectly kind ways she looks after our patients (and their humans), we can’t wait to meet her newest little addition.

Welcome to the SCAR Community Animal Hospital

SCAR have now opened a low cost animal hospital to provide the community with accessible veterinary options for the care of their pets. We want to make high-quality desexing and veterinary care accessible to all pet owners.

Our high-quality hospital accommodates medical care ranging from routine vaccinations and health checks, to diagnostics and soft tissue surgeries and has a huge emphasis on the desexing of animals and pet ownership education. We have become Hume’s very first non-profit animal hospital, offering pet owners more options when it comes to caring for their pet’s needs.

By bringing your pets to see our veterinary team, you will not only receive exceptional care but are also helping us to offset the cost of vet care to pet owners experiencing hardship, as well as assisting us to continue the rehabilitation of homeless animals in our shelter facility.

Compassionate client care is one of the most important features of our practice, and our entire team is dedicated to providing excellent customer service as well as the best treatment for your pets. We look forward to working with you and getting to know your beloved furry friend.
