Just a gentle reminder 💛
I still often get calls on Mondays, so I wanted to clarify my opening hours.
Also as I don’t have a receptionist and am often on calls in the afternoons, I may not always be able to answer the phone straight away. If I miss your call, please leave a message.
The easiest way to book is online at www.coastalveterinaryservices.com.au. I love that so many of you do that already.

If you’re an existing client, simply use the mobile number linked to your pet’s file and your details should come up automatically. If not, you’re welcome to re-enter your details and I’ll tidy everything up on my end.

I’ll always get back to you as soon as I can. Thank you for your understanding 🐾

Ms J is a lovely senior lady who is doing remarkably well for her age. She does have a few ongoing ailments, but she remains bright, content, and very much herself—always on the lookout for treats and a bit of comfort.

She even managed to pop herself into the new little bed… though it was a rather snug fit 😅

Sweet Mr S. 💙

He had impeccable manners throughout his visit, although he did give me a little flash of his front teeth as a polite warning when he’d had enough of my poking and prodding! 😂

I didn’t take it personally. We popped a muzzle on for the few minutes it was needed and kept him busy with a lick mat for distraction. Once we were finished, he was right back to being his sweet self and even rested next to me as I chatted to his mum.

No grudges held on either side.🙂🐾

I’ve spent a bit of time tonight updating my website and have created a new page dedicated to my in-home euthanasia service. I’d really appreciate it if you could take a look and let me know what you think — especially whether the images are appropriate, the right size, and if there are enough/too many of them. Any feedback is very welcome.

Compassionate in-home euthanasia services across the Sunshine Coast with Dr Sandra. Gentle mobile vet care provided in the comfort of your home for a peaceful and dignified farewell.

Sweet Ms P. is a 14.5-year-old British Shorthair who came in yesterday for a thorough senior health check.
She has been doing very well, but there were a couple of subtle physical changes that warranted a closer look. Together, her owners and I decided it would be sensible to run some blood tests and a urine test. Ms P was a star during the whole visit.
I'm delighted to report that all of her results have come back clear! 🎉
Senior health checks, and simple diagnostic tests when needed, can provide valuable information and often a great deal of peace of mind. Early detection is always preferable, but sometimes the best news is finding out that everything is looking good.
They're well worth considering for your older pets and I love looking after them ❤️

This afternoon Buddy managed to join me down at Point Arkwright for the first time in 5 weeks!
I think he's starting to get a bit of cabin fever. Since his leg surgery we haven't been able to get out much, and he's definitely been more clingy, barks more and generally a little unsettled. I triple bandaged his leg 😅 and managed to get him in the car with a ramp.

He absolutely loved sitting with me in the afternoon sun, watching the ocean and keeping an eye out for whales. 🐋

No sightings for us today.

BTW, if you enjoy wildlife, nature, travel or street photography, feel free to pop over and follow my photography page too. 📸🐋 Photography by Sandra Macheroux

It's cold! 🥶 Time to get the coats out for our dogs. 🐶
Elderly, sick, or frail cats can also benefit from a little extra warmth. 🐱❤️
For our senior pets especially, keeping warm can help ease the discomfort of arthritic joints and make those chilly nights and mornings a little more comfortable.
If you do use a coat, make sure it fits properly and is comfortable for your pet. It should never cause distress, rub on the skin, or restrict normal movement. A well-fitted coat can help keep them cosy while still allowing them to move, stretch, and enjoy life as usual.
Stay warm, everyone! ❄️🐾

This flyer contains important information about parasite preventatives. If your dog has a history of seizures, or belongs to a breed with a possible MDR1 mutation, it’s especially important to review the contents carefully.

Quick update on Buddy! Thank you so much for all the well wishes ❤️

It has now been 1 month since his surgery and he is feeling so much better. The challenge now is making sure he uses his leg carefully while everything continues to heal.

Today I forgot to close my bedroom door and he somehow managed to hop up onto the bed and chew off his bandage despite wearing his huge blow-up collar 🤦‍♀️ Luckily he doesn’t seem to have hurt himself.

Things are definitely less intense now, but he still needs lots of special care. Recovery from this kind of surgery is such a long process and it’s very easy to become complacent.
