🐾 Kennel Cough Cases Are on the Rise on the Sunshine Coast 🐾

We’re currently seeing an increase in cases of kennel cough across the Sunshine Coast, and we’d like to help keep your dogs safe and healthy.

🐶 What is Kennel Cough?
Kennel cough is a highly contagious respiratory infection that spreads easily anywhere dogs socialize.

⚠️ Symptoms to Watch For:
• A persistent dry, hacking cough
• Retching or gagging after coughing
• Sneezing or nasal discharge
• Lethargy or reduced energy
• Loss of appetite
• Mild fever in some cases

While many dogs recover well, puppies, senior dogs, and dogs with existing health conditions can become more seriously unwell.

🛡️ How You Can Help Prevent Kennel Cough:
✔️ Keep your dog’s vaccinations up to date
✔️ Avoid close contact with coughing dogs
✔️ Don’t share water bowls or toys in public areas
✔️ Keep sick dogs at home and away from dog parks/daycare
✔️ Contact your vet if your dog develops a cough
