Wildlife is part of what makes Noosa so special, and as a community, we can all help protect our native animals.

If you come across injured wildlife, please keep them safe and quiet while contacting a local wildlife rescue group or veterinary clinic as soon as possible. Even small actions like slowing down on roads at dawn and dusk, keeping cats indoors, and picking up litter can make a huge difference for our local wildlife.

At Noosa District Animal Hospital, we’re proud to help care for injured native animals whenever we can. Thank you for helping us look after the beautiful wildlife we share our home with.

Arthritis is extremely common in dogs - affecting approximately 20% of dogs over one year of age, and more than 80% of dogs over the age of eight!

Cooler weather can be especially tough on dogs suffering from arthritis. Just like people, our pets may feel more stiff and sore during the colder months, making it harder for them to enjoy their usual walks and playtime.

Signs of arthritis can include:
- slowing down on walks
- stiffness after resting
- difficulty jumping or climbing stairs,
- changes in behaviour.

The good news is there are many ways we can help keep your furry friend comfortable and moving well.
Simple things like warm bedding, gentle exercise, maintaining a healthy weight, joint supplements, and tailored pain relief can make a huge difference to their quality of life.

If you’ve noticed your dog becoming less active or showing signs of discomfort, our team at Noosa District Animal Hospital is here to help with personalised arthritis management plans to keep them happy and comfortable all winter long.

As you can see, Soxie was very excited to come in for her consult appointment with Dr Sam!

At just seven months old and already weighing 30kg, she is very much a gentle giant - and a gorgeous one at that! 💗

Thanks for visiting Soxie, we look forward to sharing more treats with you soon 🐾⭐️
