Meet Phoebe!
Phoebe recently visited us for a dental procedure after being diagnosed with Grade 4 dental disease.
During Phoebe’s dental procedure, Dr Stacy performed a full dental assessment under anaesthetic, including dental X-rays to check the health of the teeth below the gum line.
Phoebe only has two bottom canines remaining, all of her other teeth were removed during her dental procedure due to being rotten and infected.

Phoebe was an absolute super pup throughout her procedure and is now feeling much happier and more comfortable with a healthier mouth.
A little more information on Dental Disease:
Advanced dental disease is extremely painful and can have serious effects on a pet’s overall health and quality of life.
Dental disease doesn’t just cause bad breath, it can also lead to:
• Pain and difficulty eating
• Bleeding or infected gums
• Loose, damaged, or missing teeth
• Bacteria entering the bloodstream and affecting major organs such as the heart, liver, and kidneys
• Chronic inflammation that can leave pets feeling unwell and uncomfortable every day
Dental X-rays are important, as much of dental disease is hidden beneath the surface and sometimes can’t be seen during a normal oral exam.
Dental disease is one of the most common conditions we see in both dogs and cats, but with regular dental checks and early treatment, we can help prevent pets from reaching this stage.
If you’ve noticed bad breath, difficulty eating, drooling, or pawing at the mouth, it may be time to book in for a free dental check with us!
