Feel-Good Friday 🤩

Today, our kennel hand, Tshepo, did something beautiful.✨️

A pretty cat had been visiting the area surrounding his lodging in Wyebank over the past few weeks and today, he took it upon himself to bring her to work - for all the right reasons. 😸

Dr Khan was pleasantly surprised to arrive at the clinic to find an extra patient scheduled for morning procedures. 😋

Tshepo had ordered an Uber to accommodate his travel companion (level up transport from the usual minibus taxi, for feline comfort, ofcourse 😅).
The Uber driver had the misfortune of being allergic to cat fur, but nonetheless, braved the sneezy trip from Wyebank to Assagay. 🚖

After some Uber disinfection and kind words of thanks to the driver, Pretty Cat was sterilised, fully vaccinated and treated with a comprehensive spot on antiparasitic. 🐈

Shout out to Tshepo for applying the knowledge we punt to our clients to his furry friend. ✅️ She is truly the sweetest little cat...

No more unwanted litters for this kitty cat and we hope to see her soon for her booster jabs. 😻

🙏PLEASE HELP US HELP OUR WELFARE CLIENTS 🙏

As many of you would know, we assist a large number of welfare organisations with day to day care and unforeseen incidents.
We are in a bit of a tough position, where we are having to limit the intake of welfare cases, due to large arrears amounts.

We are appealing on behalf of these organisations:
If our followers are in a position to make a contribution toward any of the welfare organisations' bills, every bit helps.
Section 18A certificates can be requested from the NPO's for tax benefit.

As it stands, the larger outstanding amounts are as follows:

We understand that a lot of people are under economic strain, with non profit organisations particularly struggling, being reliant on donations and fund raising efforts.

Please note that our price increase will be effective from 01/02/2026.
Unfortunately there's no way of getting around increased operating costs.

We will be implementing a loyalty discount for clients who regularly support us. Pets who we see all through their initial vaccinations will qualify for discounted sterilisation rates.

Our welfare clients will receive an email detailing the updated rates.

It's that time of the year again:

‼️If you haven't already updated your pet's Rabies Vaccination at one of the drives held by our many wonderful colleagues in the area, we will be available on Saturday 04 October 2025, to administer free Rabies jabs.‼️

Rabies is 100% preventable in humans and animals BY VACCINATION.

We encourage everyone to vaccinate their dogs and cats – it is never too late to vaccinate!

Our Vaccination Day will be on Saturday 04 October, where we will administer free Rabies Vaccinations and other vaccinations at discounted rates.

Dr Khan and her team will all be on leave from the 22nd September until the 26th September, any emergencies please contact Hillcrest Veterinary Hospital, or Westville Veterinary Hospital. Doors will open again on Monday 29th September with a refreshed team ready to see to all your fur babies needs.

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY 🥰

These 4 heroes turned up today spotting a cat that had been missing for 9 days!!

We had a cat sterilisation day for SAFE on 27/08/2025 - the kitty had bolted from the carpark from a poorly secured carrier - straight into the Assagay Conservancy, which is a huge land mass.

We had a trap set up for over a week, we had people walk through the conservancy shaking pellets and calling, with no results.

Then, just before the close of day, on a Friday afternoon, these 4 kids happened to walk down the road and spot the little cat:
They had the good sense to come over to us at Pulse Veterinary Clinic to let us know!
YAY!!!

We immediately sprang into action and managed to lure the cat close enough to handle and bring into the clinic.
A little underweight, voracious, lots to say and exhausted! But safe ✨️

ABSOLUTE HEROES THESE LITTLE GUYS!!!
A massive thank you to Lwandile Cele, Khayaletso Mgoma, Kwanele Madikizela and Thabiso Madlala for your smart thinking and unforgettable act of kindness. 🏅

And what a way to end the week. 🥹

The cat is heading home with Dr Nazmira Khan , where there will be plenty food, water and a roof overhead, until we sterilise, treat and send back home next week.

Thursdays are always busy days... After surgeries and consults, we make our weekly trip up the hill to jab a lot of pups and dogs at PawPrints - If anybody is in a position to help reduce this bill, that would be amazing 🐾

One of the few curveballs this week 🥺 Thankfully this dog was freed from the snare - he was exhausted! Hope he's able to rest now that he's been treated 🐾
