At TEARS Animal Rescue, we're passionate about giving puppies a second chance at a happy life. But we can't do it without your help 💔.

We're looking for dedicated foster families to open their hearts and homes to our adorable puppies for just 2-6 short weeks. As a foster family, you'll get to experience the joy of watching your foster pup grow and thrive in a loving environment. You'll be giving them the best possible start at a new life, and setting them up for a forever home where they'll be loved and cherished.

We'll take care of the vet visits and food, so all you need to bring is love, care and snuggles 🥰.

By fostering, you'll not only be saving a life, but you'll also be gaining a new best friend, even if only for a short time (or maybe their forever is with you!😉).

Meet Smudge, a Bull-breed mix with a unique muzzle and the sweetest smile. This happy girl always has cuddles to give and positive energy to spare! Even though she was named for her beauty spot, the truth is that she is beautiful on the inside too! Come to TEARS and adopt Smudge today 🐄.

Smudge was found scavenging for food on the streets of Vrygrond, a low-income community in Capricorn, in 2023. She is a delightful blend of playful and sweet. She balances her independent nature with affection and friendliness. An adventurous and active soul, she thoroughly enjoys getting out and about!🏃🏻‍♀️

Smudge needs an owner who is dog savvy as she can be selective with her doggy friends. She also has a lot of energy to burn! Playing, running around and being doted on are her favourite things. As well as treats, treats, treats! Smudge has a unique bark, which she usually only uses to let you know she’s ready for dinner or that she’s spied her leash 📢.

With some structure, Smudge will easily reach her full potential. She loves a good sniff with that painted nose and has been trying to smell out her family for a while now! Could you be the one to offer her forever? 💖

Habibi Our Little Love 💛

“Habibi” means my beloved in Arabic a fitting name for this tender-hearted tabby girl. True to her name, she has a heart full of love to give. Though a little shy at first, once she feels safe, Habibi reveals her affectionate side soft cuddles, gentle kisses, and quiet loyalty that will melt your heart 💗.

She grew up with her two siblings, and she’s always found comfort in their company. Of them all, she shares the deepest bond with her brother Mr. Tipps, who has always been her closest companion and source of courage.

It would be a dream come true if they could find a home together, but even on her own, Habibi will bring warmth, tenderness, and devotion to anyone lucky enough to call her family 🥰.

Meet the longest-staying residents at TEARS Animal Rescue - our incredible dogs who've been waiting for their forever homes for far too long! 🐾 (Part 2!)

Some of our furry friends have been in our shelter for over 2000 days... that's equivalent to a car driving over 77000 kilometers, the same distance from Cape Town to Cairo and back again! 🚗

It's heartbreaking to see them spend another day without a loving family to call their own. These amazing animals deserve endless belly rubs, cozy cuddles, and unconditional love ❤️.

🌿 Meet Mr. Tipps Our Gentle Storybook Soul 🌿

Mr. Tipps may share his name with a beloved storybook character and just like his namesake, his tale is full of quiet magic and second chances. He arrived with his two sisters, and the three shared a close, loving bond. Sadly, it’s rare to find a home for three cats together, so they’ve had to go their separate ways.

Mr. Tipps is now looking for his own special family one that will give him the same warmth and companionship he once shared with his siblings. This handsome tabby-and-white boy is a beautiful mix of elegance and playfulness 🧶.

At first, he can be a little shy, watching the world from a safe distance as he figures out who he can trust. But once he knows you’re a friend, everything changes. Call his name, and you’ll see his eyes light up as he comes trotting over, tail high and heart open.

Mr. Tipps is affectionate in the softest, most endearing way the kind of cat who doesn’t demand love but offers it freely once he feels safe. He adores gentle playtime, sunny naps, and quiet company. With a bit of patience, he’ll become your loyal shadow and your warm snuggle buddy. He’s wonderfully good-natured with other cats, and he’d blossom in a calm, kind home that understands that the best friendships take a little time to grow 🌱.

Meet Elvis, also known as Elvis the Pelvis. He is a young mixed-breed dog with a big heart and an even bigger personality. Despite coming to TEARS with a fractured pelvis, his enthusiasm for life is unshakable! 🪩

Elvis is confident and always eager for attention. He loves a good game of tug-of-war and is full of charm. He’s highly food-driven, which is great for training! With a patient owner, he’ll soon figure out that calmness earns him more treats!🍪

Elvis is an active, lively boy. He’s good with other dogs, and even if he loves a cheeky chat – he isn’t anything close to a hound dog! Come by and meet him today!💖

Strong, smart, and full of heart! This handsome Pibble is a sweet and clever boy with gym-bunny energy! His joyful tippy taps will make your day, and he is very ready to find his forever people. Come and meet Buster today!💪🏻

Buster is a loving, powerful dog who responds beautifully to training. He thrives on structure, routine and purpose. He’s energetic (but working on his stamina – his goal for 2026 is to master the art of cardio!) which makes him a fantastic future hiking buddy!⛰️

He’s an excellent match for someone who enjoys regular exercise. He truly believes that health is wealth! He loves toys, especially epic-sized sticks – the bigger the log, the better! On lead, he walks nicely but prefers dogs not to invade his personal space. While he’s okay when out and about, he’s happiest with dogs at a distance and would do best as an only child.

Very strong and excitable, he’d need an experienced, confident owner who is familiar with power breeds. He’d like someone who can guide him calmly and clearly. In return, you’ll get an affectionate companion who adores you. He lights up when he sees people and his happy tap dances will make your day!❤️

Buster is ready to thrive and is excited to build a strong, balanced bond with you 🥰.

Wrapping up an incredible year at TEARS Animal Rescue! 🎉

As we count down the days until the new year, we're reflecting on all the love, joy, tail wags and purrs that filled our lives in 2025.🐾❤️

This year, we celebrated 840+ adoptions, reunited lost pets with their families, and provided a safe haven for countless animals in need🏠.

We're grateful for every single one of our supporters, volunteers, and adopters who made these numbers possible! 🙏

As we look to the new year, we're excited to continue our mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, treating and rehoming to those who need it most. Thank you for being part of the TEARS family!

We’re thrilled to share that some of our wonderful cats and dogs have found their forever homes, where they’ll finally know the warmth of love and family. 🐶💖
