These cold days make a hot bowl of soup mean so much. Our soup kitchen is in full swing, making sure the children in our community can have something warm and filling.

When people think about rescue, they often think about food and vet bills.

But there is a whole hidden side to keeping animals safe that nobody really sees.

It’s the electricity for heating day and night during winter,the washing machine that seems to run all day long.
The water used to clean bowls, kennels and floors.
The washing powder for mountains of dirty blankets.
The fuel to collect animals, take them to the vet and fetch supplies.
The disinfectant, rubbish bags, cleaning products and paper towels.
The supplements for the animals who need a little extra help.
The bedding that gets destroyed.
The bowls, leads, collars and little things that constantly need replacing.

None of these things are glamorous.
None of them make the perfect Facebook photo.

But without them, rescue simply cannot function.

That’s why we are asking....

Two trips later with a vehicle filled to the brim :)

Thank you to every single person who donated towards our Mandela Day outreach. Whether you donated food, blankets, toiletries, treats, or even just shared one of our posts, you helped make the day possible.

Seeing everything come together reminded me that there really are so many kind people out there who quietly make a difference. Because of your generosity, we were able to bless so many families and animals who needed a little extra love and support.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in what we do and for always showing up when it matters most. We couldn't do this without you.

I know I say it often, but every donation really does make a difference, and this outreach was proof of that.

Today was one of those beautiful reminders that kindness doesn't have to be big to make a big difference. ❤️

Our Jars of Hope were delivered to families in Bonnie Toun, and each jar carried so much more than food—it carried love, encouragement, and the knowledge that someone cares.

To everyone who donated ingredients, sponsored a jar, or helped make this possible, thank you. Your generosity reached homes that needed a little extra hope today.

Seeing the smiles, hearing the heartfelt "thank yous," and knowing that these jars will help put meals on the table reminds us why community matters so much.

Together, we're proving that when many people do a little, incredible things happen.

**How it started... ❤️🐾
How it's going...**🤣🤣

It's hard to believe this is the same little pup.

She came to us as a tiny pup ,a stray handed in at the vet , so fragile but they wanted to give her a second chance and the focus was getting her through each day. She spent weeks in hospital and slowly, she started getting stronger.

Then the wonderful Jessica stepped in to foster her, giving her a safe place to rest, heal and learn what it felt like to be loved. We honestly couldn't have asked for a better foster mom.

And now... look at her. 🥹🤣🥰🤭

She has found the most incredible forever home with Natasja Hasse where she is adored, spoiled and living the life every dog deserves.

Sometimes rescue is exhausting.

But then you look at photos like these and remember exactly why we do it.

This is what second chances look like. ❤️🐾
