We uplifted this tiny one this afternoon - she was being lifted out a where the mom was sleeping with a spade ready to be buried. She honestly stank of urine - such a terrible start to life. She is with Abigail who bathed her and is feeding her every 3 hours. There are 3 more puppies on site that the owner wants to keep that we will have to look at getting out - this was the weakest so we grabbed her fast . Lets hope this little girl pulls through.

we found this little brown pup half frozen today - the owner says he found him in a ditch on Saturday night - we got him wrapped up in a blanket and he started eating . The black pup was with him - we left puppy milk and puppy food and will be back tomorrow to see how they are.

Shorty with the bionic ears can hear our car from 4 blocks away and will start running to find us. We are his only source of food apart from the road scraps he finds so he is always happy to see us. Lady who had her coat shaved is doing much better - her skin has healed and the stab wound down her back closed up - she does have a coat to keep her warm at night.

We dropped off a donation of clothing from Katherine for the man who helped the pregnant mom dog found on the N2 - we will give him a Shoprite voucher next week as well. Mom and pups are doing well on the food and milk we left for them.

Two of our long timers are still looking for their homes - Tiger has improved immensely from the skeletal chained dog - he has been neutered and really loves people and children and female dogs - he is not good with male dogs, he gets a bit grumpy around them.he needs a retirement home to live out his last days.

Mishka is x Staffy - she is the most loyal dog and will protect her person with all she has - she is dog, and child friendly, there were cats where she was but she has been in kennels a long while so will need re introducing.

Both these dogs come from really harsh back grounds and deserve a gentle life.

Leila always makes her way to Geraldine's house twice a day for her food. When she didn't arrive yesterday we went looking for her and found her tied up. Her owners neighbor has accused her of killing one of the sheep that wander in the fields and has threatened to kill her if he finds her loose. We are looking for any old fencing to secure the property so she can at least be off that terrible rope, If you have ant available please let us know and we can collect. We have spoken to the sheep owner but he refuses to employ a shepherd to look after them and says they have a right to wander where they please. Leila has been in the area for 3 years and never bothered them but rather we keep her safe.

We checked on the dogs from yesterday, the pittie had been moved from the bricks to under a roof ,with a blanket to sleep on. We found these two pitties in the same area so thin that we have added them to our critical list - the light brown pittie is only 5 yet walks like a 15 year old dog . could be from malnutrition but we will send him in to the vet to check.

The little pup of yesterday came for his vaccination today all warmly dressed in his jacket - we handed out a few more dog coats to the pups in the Que to keep them warm. The shepherd pup has bad rickets , you will see his front leg in the one photo - his young owner bought him through for treatment. At least some owners are trying.
