MONTEGO and VONDIS are our saviours this month with their kind donations of dry food and raw pet food. Their generosity will ensure that numerous street dogs and community dogs will have some quality food for a change. A BIG THANK YOU for helping up help those who depend on us, to make their lives a little better.

A very busy last few weeks, getting as many kennels out as possible while the wet weather still hangs in. More rain forecast for next week - where is summer! We delivered 65 kennels over the last month 12 to GRACE Animal Sanctuary - 170-288 NPO, 16 to the Animal Rescue organisation, 16 to Help a Paw, 12 to LEAPS, 4 to PDSA - SA, and 5 to Lwandle. The difference a kennel makes to these township dogs' lives can't be described in words. It becomes a place of safety from stone throwing kids, manic taxis, loud music and abusive vermin that wander around deliberately intimidating and hurting dogs, as well as shelter and warmth where food is scarce. Any food these dogs get, and often just potato peels - is used by their thin little bodies - just trying to stay warm and free from terror and stress.
Our aim is to help shelter at least 50 dogs a month and make their lives just a little more bearable. Kennels are R300 and we can deliver 5 at a time to an organisation. Please help us to help them!

And this is Ariela – our youngest ambassador for the fight help animals have a better life in South Africa. Ariela lives in the UK and carries the torch all the way over there, to keep the light on animal abuse and how young and old can MAKE A DIFFERENCE - with a bit of effort! If every genuine animal lover put a bag of pet food in their local food donation trolley, gave up 1 set of birthdays presents for goodies for their local organization instead of accumulating more unneeded possessions, donated R100 in lieu of a couple of cups of coffee or adopted one animal – what difference that could make. Lots of small bits make a big whole! BE A GIVER NOT A TAKER.

3 days to the end of Mandela month and we have almost reached our target of 30 kennels. Winter isn't over yet and more dogs could enjoy the luxury of having a warm dry and safe house. R300 buys a dog a better life! Our MADE IN CAPE TOWN Mandela day kennels have gone out to Macassar and Langa so far, and more will be heading for Strand and Calvinia shortly.
