Here are SOME new faces that either came in this week or became available. If you are looking to adopt please go to our website to learn more about the one you are interested in, if they are still available they will still be post. If the animal is no longer available they will no longer be posted. If you are missing a pet please file a LOST report on our website site so we can cross reference with all animals in our facility and animals that come into our facility into the future, we keep these on file for 30 days.

All of our currently available animals are on our website. Please check there for information on the pets, if the animal is no longer listed it is no longer available. If you need more information please contact our adoption center as they know our pets best. We recommend you check the website frequently if you are looking to adopt as it gets updated daily as new animals come in or if adoptions fall through.

This is the LAST weekend to submit your photo for our Paws on the Wall Mural Contest and vote for your favorite furry contestants! ❤️

Yakima Humane Society’s inaugural Paws on the Wall Mural Contest gives pet owners the chance to have their dog, cat, or domesticated small animal featured in a mural on the exterior of the Yakima Adoption Center with a minimum $25 donation entry.

🏆 1st Place: Featured as the centerpiece of the mural by local artist Sylvia Merczel (Sparkle by Sylvia) + a pet prize basket
🏆 2nd & 3rd Place: Featured in secondary mural positions + prize baskets

Every vote and entry helps support the thousands of animals that come through Yakima Humane Society each year and supports programs like our $99 Spay & Neuter Program, Vaccine & Wellness Clinics, My Last Litter, and Fresh Start Fix programs.

Meet Paul, a two-year-old Lab mix with a mystery breed blend and a heart of gold. 🐾

Whether he’s part Husky, Pit, or something totally unique, one thing is certain — Paul is 100% lovable. This happy, resilient boy loves walks, exploring new places, carrying around his favorite toy, and spending time with people.

Paul does well on leash, knows “sit,” and is treat-motivated, making him a fun companion for adventures and continued training alike.

Our longest resident at Yakima Humane Society has officially found her happy ending!

After waiting patiently for her perfect match, Wanda has finally found a family to call her own. Watching animals leave our shelter and begin their next chapter is always special, but seeing a long-term resident finally get the love and home they’ve been waiting for makes it even sweeter.

Over 160 days in a kennel being passed over… but we know her perfect match is out there. And thanks to a generous donor, Maddie’s adoption fee has been fully sponsored! 🎉

Meet Maddie, a two-year-old Staffie/Cattle Dog mix weighing 55 pounds. This happy, high-energy girl is always ready for fun. She LOVES her toys, lives for tug-of-war, and would make the perfect sidekick for an active family looking for a playful companion.

Maddie is treat-motivated, eager to interact, and full of potential. She’s still working on her manners and can get a little mouthy when excited, but with consistency and positive reinforcement, she’s going to thrive.

She’s curious about everything around her — especially birds — so a home without chickens or small livestock would be best.

Maddie has spent far too long waiting for someone to choose her. She deserves a family who will see past the kennel and fall in love with the goofy, joyful dog she truly is. 💕

Great news! The Yakima Humane Society Spay & Neuter Clinic is extending our $99 Spay & Neuter Special into June! Just $99 for cats and dogs of any size, male or female, and that includes vaccines and a microchip! June appointments are going fast but next week is still open. Grab your spot before it's gone!

Guess that breed mix! Can you guess Moira Rose's breed mix (formerly known as Xiomara)?

Moira Rose was adopted at our Crab Feed into a loving home and her family just HAD to know what breeds made up her beautiful mix. She has seven confirmed breeds in her, and some supermutt. It can be pretty hard to guess all seven, but can you guess at least two? Comment your guesses below. Bonus points for anyone who can guess the other breeds in her.
