We have seen some cases of kennel cough in the past few weeks. If your pet is at an increased risk of contracting kennel cough, call to schedule a Bordetella vaccine ASAP.

This week is also National Animal Control Appreciation Week. Thank you to ACO Kanzler and Sutton for your hard work and dedication to protecting animals in our community.

In addition to the 800-ish calls for service, you also continue to try to improve our county ordinances, stress the importance of rabies vaccinations and dog tags, educate animal owners, and maintain relationships with various local and regional animal rescues. We appreciate you, and your work has shown us the need for more ACOs.

Maybe a little controversial, but I’m gonna throw it out there anyway. And It isn’t just the Malinois. It’s other super high drive dogs. Its the crazy busy border collie…It’s the Shepards with terrible confirmation. It’s the in**ed Frenchie with terrible allergies, malformed vertebra and no respiratory capacity. Do your research! Know your breed and pick a reputable breeder. And if you want to breed your dogs “just because”…..just don’t!
