Friendly Reminder: Our Fee-Waived Mutt-CHKINS Adoption Event Starts Today!

Thanks to our amazing friends at the MSPCA, our Fee-Waived Mutt-CHKINS Adoption Event is officially here, running today through the 24th of this week! 🎉

This event is for all dogs over the age of 1, and we are excited to announce that every single dog in our shelter qualifies! Whether they're new faces or long-time residents, they all deserve a chance to find their forever home. But this week, we'd especially love to see one of our long-time residents get adopted, like our Pet of the Week, Brownie! 🐾

Brownie is our water-loving, garden supervisor, couch potato, and walk buddy, what more could you ask for? He’s been with us for a while, and we’re hoping this is his week to find his forever family!

We welcome you to visit us during our walk-in adoption hours:

Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday: 12 PM - 4 PM

If those times don’t work, no problem! Just email us at [email protected], and we can set up a time that works for you.

Don’t forget to check out our website at www.worcesterarl.org to see who’s available. Some dogs may require an appointment.

So… who’s going to be the first dog to find their family this week? We can’t wait to meet you! 🐶❤️

Appreciation post: Colins Eagle Scout Project 👏🐾

Pictured below you will see photos capturing the incredible work done for Colin’s Eagle Scout project. Every bench was carefully hand-crafted, and the beautiful flower gardens now brighten up our dog walking field in the most special way.
We are deeply touched by the time, effort, and heart that Colin and his fellow Eagle Scouts poured into this project, not just to build something, but to truly give back to our community.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Your kindness and hard work have made a lasting difference, and we are so grateful.

AND, can we talk about our two amazing garden helpers in these photos? Brownie and Fox are the sweet pups you see here, and they’re still waiting for their fur-ever home!!! Look what good boys they are! How have they not been scooped up yet???????

✨Brownie and Fox are the perfect garden companions and all-around love bugs. As part of the MUTT CHKINS fee-waived adoption event, their adoption fees are completely waived this week for adult dogs over the age of 1, thanks to sponsorship from the MSPCA.✨

Our walk-in adoption hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 12–4 PM. If those times don’t work for you, please reach out, we’ll do our best to find a time that does!

We are truly overwhelmed with gratitude. 💙

A heartfelt thank you to Patrick Subaru of Auburn and the entire Patrick Motor Group for their incredibly generous donation of $14,110 to the Worcester Animal Rescue League through their annual Premium Pre-Owned Donation Program. Also gifted $14,110 this year was Why Me & Sherry’s House. Just amazing.

For the past two years, Patrick Motor Group has donated a portion of every pre-owned vehicle sale to support local mission partners, and this year, their impact has been nothing short of extraordinary. Their belief in our mission allows us to continue offering compassion, shelter, and care to animals in need, giving every adoptable pet the time, attention, and second chance they deserve.

To say we’re grateful doesn’t feel like enough. This donation helps us save lives, heal wounds, and create brighter futures, not only for the animals we care for but also for the people whose lives they touch.

We are heartbroken by the loss of Animal Control Officer Matthew Ohman. Matt was a compassionate advocate for Worcester’s animals, a dedicated partner in our shared work, and above all, a loving family man. His steady presence, kindness, and deep commitment made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed. Our thoughts are with his family and work family during this incredibly difficult time.

Please stay vigilant. This is a good reminder for all.

BEWARE of Lost Dog Scams! Many owners of lost pets are quickly subjected to various kind of scams There are many sick individuals out there who will go to any length to try to prey on desperate owners of lost pets to get money.

If you are ever in doubt, reach out to your local police, Animal Control or the Missing Dogs Massachusetts Volunteer that you are working with. If it sounds like it may be fishy, then it probably is!
