🐾⭐ PET OF THE WEEK: PEBBLES ⭐🐾

This week's Pet of the Week is the wonderful Pebbles!

Pebbles came to us as a stray, and since arriving she has completely stolen our hearts. At 3 years old and a perfect medium size of 49 pounds, Pebbles is packed full of personality, love, and fun.

She has become a favorite among our volunteers and was quickly added to our walk list because she truly enjoys spending time with people. Whether she's out for a stroll, hanging out in the office, or simply soaking up attention, Pebbles is happiest when she's with her humans.

Pebbles appears to enjoy the company of other dogs, although she may retreat if another dog becomes a little too overwhelming for her. If there are children in the home, we recommend they be older and respectful of her space. We do not have any history with cats.

One of Pebbles' favorite things in the world? Blankets! She loves getting cozy, and we can absolutely picture her claiming a spot in your bed before long. 😂

Simply put, Pebbles is a great little girl who is ready to begin her next chapter. She has so much love to give, and we can't wait to find out who the lucky person or family will be that gets to call her their own.

Think Pebbles might be your next best friend?

Walk-in adoption hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 12:00 PM–4:00 PM.

Need a different day or time? Please email [email protected] to schedule an appointment.

💕 Come meet Pebbles and see why we've fallen in love with her!

Who remembers Cali?! 🐾

Our sweet 11-year-old senior girl that we introduced during our Oldies But Goodies Week has officially started her next chapter!

A huge thank you to PittieLove Rescue for welcoming our sweet girl into their care and placing her directly into a loving foster home. No more kennel life for this senior gal! ❤️

Cali is now living the good life—surrounded by other dogs, soaking up love, getting spoiled, and enjoying all the comforts she deserves while she waits for her forever family to find her.

Want to follow Cali’s journey and be there when she gets adopted? Head over to PittieLove Rescue and give them a follow!

Moments like this remind us that when rescues work together, beautiful things happen. Thank you to everyone who helped Cali along the way. We can’t wait to celebrate her adoption day! 🐾💕

Last but certainly not least... today we would like to introduce you to survivor Cyndy.

She is the hardest one to look at. We know.

She is a visible reminder of what she must have endured on that dreadful day. While this wound looks much better now, I felt this particular photo was important to share because it is so powerful. They say your scars are proof of your strength, and Cyndy is incredibly strong.

She survived.

She's here.

And for that, we are grateful.

Taking a deep breath and being completely transparent with all of you... Cyndy will likely be the toughest one for us.

She is still very scared and is having a difficult time adjusting to shelter life. Her eyes grow wide when someone approaches her cage. Every day, multiple times a day, we try. Quiet voices. Slow movements. Gentle patience. But it's clear that Cyndy will need more time than the others.

And that's okay.

We can't even begin to imagine what she went through.

So today, we're asking for your help.

Every share could help Cyndy find the person she is meant to be with.

When that person comes to meet her, Cyndy may not be ready to be touched. She may only be able to be spoken to softly and visited with through her cage. When her person comes along and accepts Cyndy exactly as she is, we'll simply place her safely in a carrier, send her home, and let her process yet another major change in her life at her own pace.

We are looking for a very patient, understanding home for Cyndy. She is able to live with other cats, but we are still asking for a home with no dogs, or kids. Fast movements scare her.

She survived what was probably the worst day of her life.

Now, we're trying to help her find the best days of her life.

Interested in meeting Cyndy?

Our walk-in cat adoption hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 12–4 PM.

Earlier this year, our supporters came together to help fund critical repairs to the roof of our shelter.

Thanks to your generosity, we successfully raised the funds needed to complete this project. While the work could not begin immediately due to weather conditions and project timing considerations, we're excited to share that repairs are now officially underway!

Today, we're excited to share the progress that your support made possible!

This roof protects not only our building, but also the thousands of animals who pass through our doors on their journey to new homes.

From all of us at WARL, thank you for making this project possible. Your support is helping preserve this shelter and its mission for years to come.

We can’t do this work without you 💛

Today we would like to introduce survivors Vix and Dash. As you can see, we thought it was only fitting to combine their spotlight post because you can almost always find them together. 💙🐾

These two sweet ladies, each around 2 years old, currently reside in the cat adoption coordinator’s office and were among the very first of our survivors to start coming around. They spend most of their days relaxing together in the cat tree, quietly observing everything going on around them. While still cautious at times, they seem to be taking things more in stride than some of the others.

Like the rest of our survivors, we believe Vix and Dash would do well with other cats. They would absolutely love to find a home together. Because they can still be startled by quick movements and tend to hide when overwhelmed, we are recommending homes without dogs or young children.

Out of all of our survivors, Vix and Dash may be the most ready for their next chapter, and we think that says so much about how brave they are. 🥹💙

Interested in Vix, or Dash? How about Vix AND Dash?? We would love for you to come meet them during our walk-in adoption hours:
Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 12–4 PM.

Need a different day or time? We’re happy to help arrange one that works for you! Please email [email protected]

We are asking for the community’s help!

A very young puppy, estimated to be around 10 days old, recently entered our care after being brought to a local veterinary urgent care center as a stray. She is currently receiving medical treatment and supportive care, and our team is doing everything we can to help her heal and grow stronger each day.

At this time, she is expected to require a lengthy quarantine period of approximately 4 months. Extended quarantines can be especially difficult for puppies during such an important stage of mental and social development, so we are hoping to gather more information about where she may have come from.

We appreciate that this puppy was brought somewhere she could receive help, and we are simply hoping to learn more information that may help us provide her with the best possible outcome moving forward. If we are able to gather additional background information about where this puppy came from, it is possible that she may not require the full quarantine period.

If you have any information that could help, no matter how small it may seem, please contact us privately at [email protected] or 508-853-0030.

Thank you for helping us give this little one the best possible chance at a healthy future. 💛
