Rocky recently came to WARL suffering from a serious medical condition. We were told he may have been struggling with a urinary blockage for as many as five days - a critical, life-threatening emergency that requires immediate veterinary care.
His owner had attempted to seek medical help but was faced with financial barriers. Ultimately, Rocky was surrendered to WARL to give him a chance at survival.
Before he arrived, we didn't know exactly what we would be facing. But when Rocky came through our doors, despite everything his body had been through, he was still bright-eyed, alert, and ready to fight.
And we've been fighting right alongside him. ❤️
Rocky is receiving treatment for feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD), and our team has been working around the clock to provide the monitoring, medications, supportive care, and veterinary treatment he needs. He isn't out of the woods yet, but we're grateful to say that his condition is beginning to stabilize.
Rocky is also just one of many animals currently in our care receiving medical treatment.
Every day, animals arrive at WARL needing more than just food, shelter, and a safe place to sleep. They may need emergency treatment, surgery, diagnostic testing, medications, or weeks of ongoing medical care before they're ready for their next chapter.
