Berger had his first adventure walk today! 🦮🌳

We put his leash skills to work and minded our manners when passing other people and dogs while still giving him plenty of time to explore and check out all the smells our local state park has to offer! Berger got to practice his place command on a few new surfaces as well as practice his sit, down and recall in a distracting environment!

We finished off with some long line free time in the field where he got to enjoy lounging in the sun after some fetch!

Such an awesome first adventure walk for Berger! 💙

The goal of training isn’t to have your dog in a perfect heel every second of every walk — it’s to build enough reliability that you don’t have to.

Heel when it’s needed. Explore when released. Respond when asked. Hold a command until released (even as I kept walking). Then get right back to exploring and just being a dog.

Obedience should open up your dog’s world, not make it smaller. The more reliable the communication becomes, the more freedom we can safely give them. 🐾

Want this kind of reliability with your dog? Send us a message and let’s get to work. 🤝

Training in real life is where you’ll see some of the biggest changes in your dog. 🐾

Giving them the freedom they’ve earned while still incorporating obedience in a fun, natural way is unmatched!

Today’s adventure included hopping from place to place, holding positions, exploring, and recalling when asked — all while getting to just enjoy being a dog.

Obedience doesn’t always have to be structured drills. Build the skills, give them freedom, and make training part of everyday life. 💚

Want reliable obedience without taking the fun out of being a dog? Send us a DM — let’s build the trust and skills that give your dog more freedom. 🐾

Maddox is starting his training journey to work on his manners and self control! He’s a 1 year old boxer who is sweet as could be but, in typical boxer fashion, is very energetic with little awareness of how big he is!
