Hello! Winterset Veterinary Center is looking to fill a kennel attendant position. This job is great for high school students, and the schedule works well into the school year. The only thing we require is that you have a driver's license and working car. This is a great opportunity for individuals' interested in veterinary medicine to gain hands on animal handling experience and be immersed in the clinic environment. BUT you don't need to be interested in veterinary medicine to work here - you just need to like working with animals!
Jobs duties include taking care of boarding animals such as walking dogs (rain or shine/hot or cold), providing fresh food and water, and cleaning out kennels. Kennel attendants are also expected to help out with cleaning the clinic including taking out trash, wiping down surfaces, sweeping, mopping, laundry, and vacuuming. You will also be responsible for taking care of the clinic cat Cheetoe! : )
Hours for this position are morning and evenings. Shift length can vary depending on the number of dogs. Shifts are available seven days a week and there are multiple kennel attendants which work together to divide up shifts. We ask that you be flexible with your availability.
Please stop by the clinic during hours to pick up an application!
