Winston Salem NC

In the spirit of Christmas and in the spirit of giving, we are waiving the adoption fees for our big dog fosters who deserve forever homes too! As the old saying goes, tweaked just a tad, "All I want for Christmas is.... A FOREVER HOME" These three girls plus handsome Buddy have waited a LONG time for their forever homes!

Gracie is a young boxer mix. She has grown up with us. She was dumped in a Food Lion parking lot, as a young pup. She is now 2 years old. Graice is house trained, fully vetted, including spay and chip. She loves the company of other dogs. She loves to play and nap!

Nora is a beautiful 35 # miniature husky who came from a cruelty case. She is around 18ms old. She is a sweetheart of a dog who is the true velcro dog. She wants nothing more than to be attached at your hip 24/7. She is an active girl, but also a couch potato! Nora requires a fenced yard. She is great with other dogs. She is fully vetted, including spay and chip. She is housetrained.

Dixie is a beautiful 2yro brindle lab mix of 40 #. She came from a very loving home who was forced to give her up, due to family dynamics. Dixie absolutely LOVES water... give her a pool, a creek, a pond and she is your new best friend. Dixie is great with other dogs. She is also great with older kids. She is housetrained. She is fully vetted including spay and chip.

Buddy is a young 2yro handsome devil. He was dumped on one of our volunteers land and of course, no owner ever reclaimed him. Buddy is fully vetted including neutered and chipped. He has just successfully completed heartworm treatment! Buddy is very attached to his foster mom. He will do best in a home with a female, as he is terrified of men. He is great with the resident male dog and ignores (for the most part) the resident cat. He is housetrained but will mark, if he smells where another dog has also marked.

If you are interested in adopting any of these cuties, please complete the adoption application. All adoption application screening protocol still applies.

Let's get these big sweethearts a home for Christmas! IF you cannot adopt, please share!

Imagine being a senior dog, maybe 10 years old and living outside, in the mountains in extreme cold… but there’s more… imagine, also being pregnant. Imagine that no one cares. Not one rescue steps up, even with your picture and story being shared 400x. You weather 20* nights and give up hope. Each night, you pray for a miracle, maybe the next day you will have a glimmer of hope. Imagine that being this little girl with no hope, giving up, till one rescue and three rescuers come together. Yesterday, that miracle happened for this little girl and she is safe. She is warm and her puppies will not be born in the elements. Her puppies, nor her will freeze to death. We have named her Tinsley after one of our foster family’s daughters! Tinsley is safe, warm and snoring with love! It takes a village!
Today she went to the vet! She is confirmed to be carrying 7 puppies! Her temperature is dropping and her puppies should be here in a few days. She will rule the world one day! All because a foster family stepped up to foster her!

More pictures and info coming soon!

Buster says “All I want for 🎅 to bring me is my forever 🏠 and a new 👩 👨 💙 and maybe a 🦴 or 🦴 🦴 “

This boy is the sweetest! He’s a Chihuahua mix that came from the recent cruelty case, where 23 Chihuahuas were living on a roof of a house. All dogs have been rescued.

Buster is about a year old and weighs 5-6 #. He LOVES being held. He wants to be close to his people. A fenced yard is required and he doesn’t know how to walk on a leash. He is fully vetted, including neutered and chipped now. He is p*e p*e pad trained. He is fine with other dogs but is completely happy with his own person.

To be considered, please go to our website and complete the adoption application. Adoption fee is $300

TODAY is ! What that means is that we have this day, as a day, for generosity and hope! Today it is our hope that we are able to raise funds for the ongoing expenses like vet care, of animals in our program, from many hoarding/cruelty cases, that we have taken on in Davidson County, NC. This year alone has been the worst year of cruelty cases, that we have been involved with. With cases like this, comes a mountain of vet bills, as no animal had been vaccinated, ever, nor had they been spayed/neutered, or ever been able to live, like a normal member of the family!

Whether you donate $5 or $500, every single dollar goes to help our mission. Our rescue takes in an average of 200 animals, per year. With those 200 comes large expenses like vet care, quality food and supplements.

Animal CARE Foundation exists today because of the generosity of YOU, our supporters! We provide a safe, foster home for our animals, until their forever home is found! Lots of these cases are unimaginable and sadly, we've seen what these animals come from and it's our vow to them that they are never cold, hungry or unwanted again.

You may choose to make a donation in honor or in memory of someone that you hold dear, who loved animals or simply because you love animals! On this , all day today, we humbly ask, if you would consider making a small donation to ensure that an animal goes from unwanted to wanted! Your donation is completely tax deductible. We can email a tax receipt to you or mail one.

Happy Holidays from all of us at ACF! Thank you for being a voice for the animals! They appreciate your kindness and generosity.

Pictured below is Chance. He is a beautiful Australian Shepherd that came from one of the hoarding cases! He stood knee deep in mud and his own f***s, no water, food thrown on the ground and literally no hope! Today, he is safe, warm and loved!! Your tax deductible donation, goes to help a dog, just like Chance!

As we enter into the holiday season, we, as ACF, come together, and remind ourselves what we are most thankful for. In short, it’s that was are able to take care of God’s creatures and bring them to safety. We will start showcasing our animals that were with us, this year. This year has been one for the books! It definitely will go down in history, as we have hit the ground running and haven’t stopped this year. Sadly, we have worked some of the most horrid cases, this year, of animal cruelty, here in Davidson County, NC.

The two rescues that we showcase, this THANKSgiving day, are Roanie and Hollister! These two came from the same horrid animal cruelty case of 177 dogs and one horse, right here in one of the communities. The case spanned multiple states, as rescuers came to help! The case made headlines, on the southeast side of the US.

Roanie, 6yro male quarter horse had lived in hell, at his “owners” property. We watched him all seasons, wasting away. In June a victory came, when all animals were ordered by the judge, to be removed from the property! It was exactly what Roanie needed to be free from his captors! We had an amazing horse family step up and foster him. If not for them, Roanie would have died. He started on a healthy alfalfa diet with supplements. He saw a large animal vet and became a favorite, quickly. We ran all of the tests! Roanie does have a Vitamin E deficiency and is on a daily supplement. The condition is called Equine Motor Neuron Disease. While there is no cure, it is imperative that he gets his supplements each day. He also on a pain management plan, under the direction of his vet. He was adopted a couple of weeks ago to long time horse owner and lover. He finally has a true best friend, a pasture girlfriend named Honey.

Hollister also came from this horrid place. The day she was released, her breeder her threw her in a crate in the back of a volunteers car. She was so shut down, so just wanting to die. She was VERY pregnant, having delivered her puppies, safely with us, TWO days later. She was an incredible mom! Once her puppies were weaned, we moved her to another foster where the family focused 100% on Hollister and getting her over a lot of her fears. She was basically a feral dog and the only human touch she had ever had was when the breeder was taking her puppies away. It took a good four months of “hands on deck” of love, that Hollister started emerging from that dog that no one cared about to being the star of the farm! Hollister had a family waiting for HER! In April, Hollister moved out of foster care and into her forever home. A real, safe forever home. There are horses at her home, goats and cats too, plus a best friend! Her parents keep her well stocked in these piggies, because they are what make her feel safe.

Both Roanie and Hollister were the products of animal cruelty. Now they are forever loved by their new families!

We are THANKFUL for our Animal Control team with DCSO, daily!

**a video of Roanie, since his adoption, is in the comments** 💙 🐎
