(Borrowed/Altered...from a Rescue going through the very same issue)💔

It is with a heavy heart that we must announce that we have and will continue to be on a freeze for intake until further notice.... Everyone has seen how hard rescue is now all over and we are no different. We have been given challenges out of our control that make our work even harder just to help. We have lost fosters and volunteers for both this reason and others. We are exhausted and do not have the ability to continue at the pace we had been with the obstacles we continue to face. We are very heartbroken. We have always focused on community animals primarily since the structure of our county shelter with the amount of volunteers they currently have...we simply can not pull from them. 💔 We must put the brakes on until changes are made and/or we can restructure and add more volunteers. For all of the fosters you are/were amazing. Please stay with us as we navigate and identify how we can best continue and at what level. You can be a key part in deciding how we can do this going forward.... The mission will always be to save animals in need.

We have multiple dogs and cats that need fosters right now. We will be focused on the animals we have already committed to. There is still a great need for fosters for the dogs and cats we already have that we need covered before we can move forward with any new animals and create a system that is manageable. Please continue to help in any way you can. We desperately need you.

Well-meaning people often put young wildlife’s health in danger when they intervene in a wild animal’s natural process of growing up.

As people begin to garden and play in their yards this spring, they may stumble upon young bunnies, fawns and fledgling birds mistakenly thought to be abandoned. The natural response for most people will be to help, but in the majority of cases, one or both parents is a short distance away searching for food and will only return when the coast is clear.

“Wild parents can’t hire a babysitter, so most young animals spend a lot of time on their own well before they can fend for themselves,” said Falyn Owens, extension biologist at the Wildlife Commission. “When the mother returns, sometimes many hours later, she expects to find her young where she left them.”

Owens advises that if you truly feel the animal needs help, the best thing you can do is leave it alone (or put it back) and call a wildlife rehabilitator for advice.

Please call or text me at 336-247-2781 or my husband Chad at 336-247-0614 or message me back here if you are interested or to direct me to any additional resources. Thank you!

Helping placement....serious inquiries only!
Hi friends!
We have found ourselves needing to find a new home for one of our dogs. We found him as a stray puppy dumped in the country about a year ago.
He has been a typical puppy for the first year but recently has had two incidents of serious aggression towards smaller male dogs as well as some resource guarding. He plays well with female dogs & has done well on trips to the dog park. The other factor is that he is a fence jumper (4 ft) so our immediate fear is that he could jump the fence and go after a neighbor’s dog or someone walking a dog. He loves being with people & is very affectionate but with all the needs of the children in our home we cannot focus on the behavior modification that he needs.
Any suggestions??
He is neutered, UTD on vaccines & HW preventative.
