🐾 Okapi’s walks are getting better every day! 🐾

She is still learning all the new sounds, sights, and smells around her, but she’s making great progress! Her leash work is improving by the day, and we’re continuing to work with her and build her confidence on each walk. 🐕

Okapi is such a smart girl — and she’s very food motivated, which definitely helps! 😂 She picks things up pretty quickly and is doing such a great job learning. ❤️

We’re so proud of this little girl and all the progress she’s making! 🐾

Today was our Foster puppy, Okapi’s first little walk around the neighborhood! 🥰🐶

She’ll be starting her leash work soon, but for now, we’re taking things slow and letting her simply experience the world around her. New sounds, new smells, different sights, and all the little things that come with being out and about. 💕🌿

These early experiences are all about building confidence and helping her learn that the world can be a safe and positive place.

I started Ruff Routez because I truly love working with dogs—especially the ones who need a little extra patience, guidance, and structure. 🐾

Whether your pup needs a structured walk, a quick drop-in visit, help building better manners through e-collar training, or occasional in-home pet sitting while you're away, I'm here to help!

With 10+ years of hands-on experience working at a dog boarding and daycare facility, alongside rescue animals, I've had the opportunity to work with dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages, energy levels, and temperaments. From playful puppies to senior dogs, and from easygoing companions to those needing extra behavioral support, I've developed the skills and patience to provide safe, reliable, and compassionate care.

My goal is to help every dog build confidence through structure, enrichment, and positive experiences while giving pet parents peace of mind knowing their furry family member is in caring, capable hands.

💧 A little water can make a life-saving difference during extreme heat.

Dogs, cats, birds, and other animals can become dehydrated quickly when temperatures rise.

Public water stations in parks and busy outdoor areas could give pets and stray animals a safe place to drink.

They could also help owners who forget water or run out during a long walk.

The stations would need regular cleaning and maintenance, but the benefit could be huge.

Taking breaks during our walks is a great thing for dogs. It gives them time to sniff, explore their surroundings, and observe the world around them—providing important mental enrichment in addition to physical exercise.

🐾 Make sure they have ID tags and updated microchip information
🐾 Close windows and doors to prevent escapes
🐾 Provide a quiet, comfortable space away from the noise
🐾 Never bring pets to fireworks displays
