Meet Stella! 🐾❤️ A senior lady with a few complaints!

This place is LOUD, the company is BUSY, and the staff is BOSSY!

These are supposed to be my GOLDEN YEARS, and here I am surrounded by a bunch of bossy adolescent teenagers! And that's just the STAFF!

I should be napping. Enjoying the peace and quiet of a comfortable couch. Maybe sunbathing on a porch, without a single worry in the world. Instead, I'm living in what appears to be a poorly managed daycare with barking dogs and employees who think they're in charge!

I'm approximately 9 years old. One of the staff members spent an entire afternoon trying to convert that into dog years before finally giving up.

Seriously, how much are they paying that guy? 🙄

Anyway, enough about the questionable hiring practices around here.

I'm spayed, current on vaccines and preventatives, vet checked, and microchipped!

Dogs? Fine.
Cats? Fine.
Humans? Fine.
Peace and quiet? YES, PLEASE!

At my age, I've learned to tolerate just about anything. That doesn't mean I want to!

My adoption fee is $150, BUT here's where things get interesting!

❤️ I qualify for the Seniors for Seniors Program! ❤️

That means senior citizens interested in adopting me may qualify for a discounted adoption fee!

Two seniors, one couch, afternoon naps, and absolutely no unnecessary nonsense. Sounds like a pretty good retirement plan to me!

Come meet me at the Sedalia Animal Shelter! Let's get me out of this circus and into the retirement home I deserve!

I’ve been here for 78 DAYS, which is basically 78 business days of me wondering when my 2nd chance is going to take full affect. 😅 I’m sweet, I’m loving, I’m goofy, and I have absolutely no problem making sure you know just how happy I am to see you! I’ve also been doing great with the other dogs here at the shelter, so I’m totally cool with having some canine roommates. 🐶❤️ Now, before we get too excited, I should probably mention that cats and I have decided to go our separate ways. 🐱🚫 No hard feelings… we just don’t see eye to eye. 😂 So I’m looking for a NO-CAT home where I can finally settle in, soak up all the love, and be someone’s best friend."

We are very excited to announce our next Vaccination Clinic is coming up on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and everyone is welcome!

***No appointment needed***

💳 We accept cash and cards only. Sorry, no checks. If you can pay with cash, it helps keep the line moving faster and avoids those pesky card processing fees.

🚫 Please do not enter the building unless directed by a staff member. We'll be bringing people in as space allows to keep things moving safely and efficiently.

⏰ The cutoff time to get in line is 2:30 p.m. If you're not in line by 2:30, we won't be able to guarantee service before the clinic ends.

Please remember to be patient with staff and your fellow pet owners so we can make things run as smoothly as possible. Let's continue to make the pets in our community happy and healthy! We hope to see you all there!
