🌙 Every shelter dog has one wish...

To stop being "the next one waiting."

Luna doesn't need a mansion.
She doesn't need fancy toys.

She just wants someone who smiles when they see her, scratches her belly, takes her on walks, and makes her part of the family. Most of all, she wants someone to love her as deeply as she'll love them.

She's about 3 years old, 55 pounds, housebroken, dog friendly, and has the sweetest personality you could ask for. Belly scratches are her absolute favorite, and she'll gladly soak up every bit of love you're willing to give.

The only thing standing between Luna and her forever home?

Someone saying, "She's my family."

Today we want to shine the spotlight on four amazing supporters who never stop showing up for the dogs in our care.

Shelters are full. Rescues are overwhelmed. Every day, more dogs and cats enter the system than there are homes for them.

The heartbreaking truth is that we can't rescue our way out of this. We need responsible pet owners to help stop the cycle.

Spaying and neutering is one of the most compassionate decisions you can make. It prevents unwanted litters, reduces the number of homeless animals, and helps prevent more pets from facing neglect, abandonment, or euthanasia simply because there aren't enough homes.

The future of Missouri's animals depends on all of us—not just shelters and rescues.

🚨🌡️ EXTREME HEAT WARNING – KEEP YOUR PETS HOME & INSIDE THIS WEEK! 🌡️🚨

This heat can be deadly for pets. The safest place for dogs and cats is inside in the air conditioning. They do not need to go on errands, and they should never be left in a parked vehicle—even for a few minutes.

🐾 Signs of heat stroke:
• Excessive panting
• Heavy drooling
• Weakness or stumbling
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Bright red or pale gums
• Collapse or unconsciousness

🚑 If your pet is overheating:
• Move them to a cool place immediately.
• Offer small amounts of cool water.
• Wet their paws, belly, and neck with cool water.
• Seek veterinary care right away.

💔 Shade and water alone may not be enough in extreme temperatures, and hot pavement can burn paws in seconds.

❤️ Keep them home.
❤️ Keep them inside.
❤️ Never leave them in a parked vehicle.
