Southern Paws VA Animal Rescue 501c3 Foster/Volunteer based animal rescue founded in Winchester VA 2016 became 501c3 in 2017 All volunteer rescue for rabbits, dogs and cats.

We wish to help rescue those animals in need of re homing, surrendered/dumped, found in shelters and rehabilitate and re home each pet to a safe and loving home. We educate others in the community how to properly care for animals, vet, and spay and neuter animals to help the animals' welfare and avoid overbreeding and dumping of unwanted animals at shelters. If in case we cannot take in an animal

through a foster, we will assist in helping find a safe home or rescue for that pet. All of our animals will be in foster care and not in a kenneled facility to make the pet feel at home and loved.

Unfortunately we haven’t been able to cover Theo’s visit. We have $100 towards his account because my personal cat donated blood. However we are still behind $477.17 we need to cover asap. Theo is being adopted by his foster family ❤️❤️❤️ look how cozy he looks ! We are so happy for him . This sweet senior boy found an amazing family to love him until his last days. If you wish to donate towards his account please see below . Your donations is what allows us to save dogs like him. We had no foster and no funds , took him in at 3 am and saved him from being put to sleep . He deserves all the love in the world & we are so happy we could help .

💔 Looking for a Loving Home for Two Bonded Cats 💔

These sweet kitties recently lost their owner, who loved them dearly. We’re hoping to find them a safe, quiet, and loving home together, since they’ve been lifelong companions.

🐾 Mona – Black cat, one eye, born Dec 2016. She’s shy at first but incredibly lovable once she feels safe.

🐾 PeeWee – Orange tabby, born June 2017. A bit more outgoing than Mona, but still reserved until he trusts you.

They both just lost the only person they’ve ever known, so we’d love to place them in a calm home without children where they can adjust and feel secure again. Both are spayed/neutered and located in Ranson, WV.

We lost our sweet baby tonight . Duke has crossed over the rainbow bridge. We would love to bring him back home with his foster family cremated if we can raise enough funds for him. Duke was 20 years old. You heard that right. He made it to twenty, not many dogs do. He was very special to all of us. Especially the kids in the home. They loved his dukey boy.. they keep asking for their Baby Puppy to come back. 💔

Rest in Peace Duke.
We love you so much baby boy.

Brva has taken on some of our most serious cases. They have preformed emergency surgery procedures , taken in after hours emergencies for us , hospitalized some of our most critical patients and have helped us reduce the population of these homeless pets by spaying and neutering dogs , cats , rabbits and gliders for us .

If you missed our recent intake, check him out..
His name is Theo ♥️ 10 year old Hound mix
He was surrendered a few days ago , and has since started on medications to help his skin / ear infection.
This sweet old man was treated at Valley ER vet
And was immediately given a second chance in life
After his medicated bath, he ran around and did happy hops around the yard.
Fast forward to now, he sleeps in bed with us and is learning to walk on a leash without yelping every time the collar gets touched or if the leash touches his body. We do believe this boy has been severely abused. And he needs a very patient family that will offer him lots of love and a safe environment.
He still refuses to eat outside a kennel that we have set up to be his safe place “ his little cave “ .

Theo absolutely loves children and affection .
He craves to be around somebody so badly.
We know he’s got a few more weeks to get 100% better, but we hope to find him a foster to adopt family that is willing to take in this old soul.

Donations welcomed and can be called into our vet. We did a lot of blood work to find a reason for why this sweet boy was going to be euthanized. He’s overall healthy, and didn’t have a good reason to be put down. We’re glad that we were contacted to save him, because he really deserves this second chance in life.
