Hi friends Stewie here with an update. He's on the good antibiotics for a few days now after preliminary results showed orig antibiotics weren't helping. We also added twice daily foot soaks with a disinfectant due to this sore forming after aspiration.
His foot seems to be improving and we should have official results early this week. Fingers crossed this all does the trick and we wont need to take further action.
Stewie wants to thank all his supporters. We couldn't help him without you!

What a day friends!!
Number one we need to tell you how amazing Bunny Strong Grooming is!
Meet Keanu. A 9 year old Angora.
He arrived today after life tossed him a lemon. He was dearly loved in his home for his entire 9 years and due to life circumstances, he could no longer stay there. He found his way to us and we finally have space to bring him in.
On arrival we knew he needed some serious TLC so we contacted the one and only Jenny! She thankfully found time for us and made the long trip to perform an amazing 5 hour transformation on this little love bug. He was an absolute dream boat the entire time no less!
We love you so much jenny! You are an angel♥️♥️
Now, Keanu will not be available for a bit as he needs a full vet workup and clearance, but we'll be working on potty habits until then. For now please enjoy this introduction and follow BSG for your grooming needs 😊

Hii friends!! We've been busy over here at Rebel!

First, Stewie has a mysterious swelling going on with his toe, so we've had to send a sample off for testing after seeing no improvement on current TMS antibiotics/pain meds for the initial diagnosis. Ouch mostly for Stewie but a little for our pockets. So far his total for this curious problem is approximately $945. We are hoping for good results from the culture but if it's not great then that may lead to more serious treatment. Please share if you can't donate, Stewie would really appreciate it. He has been such a good boy taking his meds without issue, which saves us both a lot of stress. https://givebutter.com/rebel-rabbit-rehoming-donation

Second, we have several new boys coming in this week! Stay tuned for their updates.

And lastly, our currently available residents Dottie and Sebastian. Dottie is an older girl who just wants a quiet home to relax in, and Sebastian is a young boy who would do well with an environment to explore. Could you see yourself loving one of them?

Meet Dottie — our resident lady of leisure.
She’s a sweet, gentle girl looking for a quiet home where she can relax and enjoy life at her own pace. Dottie came to us with a rough past and some extra weight, but she’s been blossoming — exploring her space, hopping around, and even standing up for snacks.
She does have some vision loss from an old injury, so slow, calm approaches help her feel safe. No lady likes surprises.
If you’re hoping for a calm, affectionate bunny who loves peaceful company, Dottie may be your perfect match.

Just look at that face — how could anyone resist this handsome boy?
Sebastian is a young gentleman searching for his forever home, and he’s ready to charm his way right into your heart. With his gorgeous coat, he’ll need daily brushing to keep him looking his best, but he’s well worth the effort.
Could Sebastian be the bun for you?

So important with the heat wave upon us!

Welcome to Hell.

Prevent Overheating:

•Air conditioning if temps are over 77° F (25° C).
•Oscillating fans if no air conditioning.
•Trim away excess fur — ‘puppy’ haircuts for fuzzy bunnies.
•Relocate bunny to a cooler part of the house.
•Keep out of sunlight.
•Mist bunny’s ears — evaporating water will help with cooling.
•Set up a fan to blow over a bowl of cold water or a wet sheet.
•Place frozen water bottles near bunny.
•Freeze ceramic tiles for 15 minutes for bunny to lie on.
•Wrap a frozen 2L bottle with a towel as a bolster to lean against.
•Add ice to bunny’s water crock.

Recognize the signs of heat exhaustion:

•Fast, shallow breathing.
•Wetness around the nose.
•Listlessness.
•Hot ears.
•Tossing head back while breathing rapidly from open mouth.

These symptoms indicate an emergency. Take immediate action!

Relocate to a cool place, keep out of sun, dampen ears with cool water, give cold water to drink, and call an experienced exotics veterinarian for further instructions.
