I feel the need to reach out and tell all of our customers/clients, that we don't like to reschedule. We don't like to cancel activities. The last thing we want to be a part of is ruining someone's hope, plans, or special occasions.
We want to be a part of everything that involves happiness, making dreams come true, and creating magical moments!
I'm not sure how many of our customers follow us on social media, but I hope they do!
When we cancel, or reschedule activities, please know that it is solely because our unicorns welfare comes before anything else!! If we didn't have the morals we have and just took people's money to make a buck we wouldn't be who we are and we wouldn't be celebrating 54 years of business this year.
We deeply apologize for what may seem like last minute change of plans due to weather! If we could create perfect riding weather for all our scheduled activities believe me we would!!
You see, trail riding is very different than an indoor lesson or even outdoor lesson on tough weather days or poor air quality. When you are in a lesson and the instructor notices discomfort in a horse, the instructor is able to call it quits at that point and time, address the issues, and take action. When you are on a trail ride and say a horse shows signs of discomfort 20 min. into that ride, that horse has to carry it's saddle back 20 minutes before it can be accessed. The last thing we want to have is an emergency situation. So we choose to not work horses when there are heat advisories, or air quality advisories.
We care for 70 horses here. Most of our customers say,
"omg how do you know all their names and keep track of them". We not only know their names, we know each of their normal vitals, we know their knickers vs. winny, vs. distress calls. We can tell from just passing by their paddock or stall and know if one is not feeling themselves.
So again, we deeply apologize for "ruining any plans, or special memories" we truly don't want to be those people. We also refuse to be those people who don't put the animals welfare first, and always!
On that note, everyone seemed to fare well today! We smelled smoke so bad for a good 2 hours. That didn't stop us though, it was the coolest it's been in a while, which allowed us to deep clean all paddocks while monitoring all the horses. We have 5 respiratory horses on property and they managed very well today!! Better than some of us!
