🐾 Today is National Check the Chip Day! 🐾

Did you know that 1 in 3 pets will become lost at some point in their lifetime? And while microchipping greatly improves the chances of getting. lost pet back home, only about 6 out of 10 microchips are registered. 🥺

So....what exactly is a microchip? 🤔

A microchip is a tiny identification device, about the size of a grain of rice, implanted under your pet's skin that contains a unique identification number that can be scanned by a veterinary hospital or animal shelter. It's purpose is to connect your pet back to your contact information through a microchip registry.

Here's the really important part: A microchip only works if the information connected to it is accurate and up to date! Keeping your registration current increases the chances of being reunited with your pet if they ever become lost.

Take a few minutes today to:
🐾Confirm your pet's microchip is registered
🐾Make sure your phone number, address and email are current
🐾Make sure your emergency contact information is accurate

Pandora came to see Dr. K for a new patient appointment and we couldn't help but notice her unique ears! We're not sure if those ears are listening for someone to say "walk", for food to hit the floor, or just doing their own thing, but we are sure that they make Pandora even more loveable! (As if that were possible!)

Apparently, someone decided the garbage can was a buffet 😭🫶

After getting some treatment, Tessie was sent home with one very important medical recommendation:

🚫 Stop eating trash!

Judging by that smile, we're not sure she agrees with the treatment plan 😂💙

We're happy to report this sweet girl is doing well and hopefully sticking to dog food from now on! 🐾✨

🐶💙 Ginger was here last week for her annual visit and somehow found herself back with us again after being bitten by the neighbor's dog.

We're always happy to see her, but we'd much rather it be for treats and belly rubs than emergencies🦴🐶

Thankfully, this sweet girl was all smiles and handled everything like a lady. Wishing you a speedy recovery, Ginger! 🐾
