Today we went to pick up these two little angels who have been on our spay and neuter waiting list for almost a month.

Sadly, their owner told us that the little girl escaped a few days ago. We are asking around the neighborhood and hoping she will be found safe soon so she can receive the care she needs.

In the meantime, we were able to take her handsome companion to be neutered today. He has spent much of his life tied to a chain, and our hearts broke seeing his situation. The good news is that his owner promised that once he is neutered and fully healed, he will be set free from the chain and allowed to live a better life.

Every spay and neuter surgery helps prevent unwanted litters, reduces suffering, and gives animals a better chance at a healthier and happier future.

If you can spare a few dollars to support our spay and neuter program, any amount makes a meaningful difference for animals in need. Together, we can help more dogs and cats receive the care they deserve.

💔 Shakira’s story is simple… and sadly, all too common.

She was abandoned in a rural area and left to fend for herself. A kind man who lives nearby noticed that some neighbors wanted to catch her and remove her from the area (thrown her away like garbage) simply because she was in heat.

Wanting to give her a chance, he reached out for help. He offered to foster her until we can find the loving, safe home she deserves.

During surgery we discovered that Shakira was suffering from pyometra, a life-threatening uterine infection. Thankfully, she was spayed just in time and she will be ok.

She has also received blood work, treatment for fleas and ticks, and will be vaccinated before returning to her foster home.

Every day, dogs like Shakira need help. And our spay and neuter programs run on a daily routine. We never say no to a dog in heat, but we need help to continue.
Your support allows us to continue spaying and neutering stray and street dogs and cats, as well as pets belonging to low-income families—preventing suffering before it starts.

The orthopedic surgeon has confirmed that Sire suffered multiple fractures to her pelvis.

Surgery is possible, but unfortunately it would be a very complex and costly procedure. Because of the location and severity of the fractures, multiple plates, screws, and pins would be needed, including some specialized materials that can be difficult to find in the DR, reason why in some cases like this, surgeons must use implants similar to those used in human maxillofacial surgery. The estimated cost is approximately $2,000 USD, a sum that we simply do not have at this time.

Right now Sire is simply too weak. She is severely underweight, exhausted, and far too fragile to endure such a major procedure. We are hoping to receive some funds to be able to proceed with surgery as soon as she’s ready.

We cannot imagine the heartbreak she felt when her newborn puppies were taken away from her. While she was desperate and confused searching for her babies, she wandered into the busy parking lot and was struck by a car.

When Sire arrived, she was terrified, drenched from the rain, and emotionally defeated. She looked lost, as if her heart had given up.

We have been visiting her every day. The emotional wounds are just as evident as the physical ones.

We are deeply grateful for the two donations received so far for Sire. Because of your kindness, she has been receiving proper veterinary care, pain management, nutritious food, and a safe place to rest and heal.

She has been very sad, grieving the loss of her puppies. But yesterday gave us a little hope: she wagged her tail and even tried to move around in her crate. It may seem like a small thing, but for Sire, it was a big step forward.

Please keep Sire in your thoughts and consider helping her recovery if you are able. No donation is too small, and every contribution helps us continue providing her with the care she needs.

Follow up about Sire 🐾

Yesterday we just let her decompress a little. She was completely soaked wet from the rain, but after she got dry, she ate very well, drank lots of water, and received medication to control pain and inflammation. Thankfully, she slept well through the night.
We took her for X-rays, and they clearly show that Sire has a fractured pelvis. Right now we are waiting to consult with the orthopedic specialist in the capital city to better understand how severe the damage is and what the next steps will be.

Despite all the cruelty and suffering Sire has endured, she has not lost her sweetness or her faith in humanity. 💔

Please keep Sire in your prayers and send healing vibes her way. 🙏🏻🐾

🆘 🐾 This sweet angel was hit by a car and left abandoned in the middle of the street, under the rain… unable to walk, terrified, and looking around as if she was still hoping someone would stop to help her.

A kind and humble woman couldn’t ignore her suffering and rushed her to the vet, then reached out to us for help. We named her Sire 🩷

It’s heartbreaking to see that she recently gave birth. Her weak body is skin and bones, yet her breasts are still full of milk. A security guard told us that just before the accident someone placed all of her newborn puppies in a box and took them away 💔 very possible to throw them away.
Life has been unbelievably cruel to Sire, but we are determined to show her that kindness still exists.

Please help us give Sire the care, treatment, and love she desperately needs. Every donation matters. 🙏🏻🐾

Neftalí just crossed the rainbow 💔🌈🐾

It breaks our hearts to think he probably spent long hours suffering without care. We still don’t know exactly what happened to him. His bloodwork was ok, he tested negative for ehrlichiosis, he received IV fluids with vitamins, but despite all the efforts, he never showed signs of recovery, not even a blink, he was just breathing. In the end, he had diarrhea and started bleeding from his nose.
He was in the process to be taken for some X-rays but he passed right before.
We tried everything we could… but it wasn’t enough to save him. Run free sweet Neftalí 💔

Thank you to everyone who sends healing vibes and prayers for him.
