🤔 Have you ever heard of feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD)?

FLUTD is a broad term we use when cats develop pain, inflammation, or difficulty with urination. Common signs include:

🟡 Avoiding the litter box or making frequent trips to it
🟡 Blood in the urine
🟡 Straining, vocalizing, or showing signs of distress while trying to urinate

If your cat is showing these signs, it’s time for a visit to the veterinarian. In most cases, the first step is to test the urine for crystals, blood, and bacteria. The goal is to identify the underlying cause—which can range from a urinary tract infection, to bladder stones, to stress-related inflammation (often called Feline Idiopathic Cystitis).

Every cat is different, and these signs should never be ignored—especially in male cats, where urinary obstruction can quickly become life-threatening.

If you notice any changes in your cat’s litter box habits, contact your veterinarian as soon as possible.

It's that time of year for Kennel Cough! 😷

Kennel Cough is an umbrella term for all the causes of the dry, rough cough that dogs often develop in the spring and summer months. 🔅

When you're dog boards with other dogs or meets them in a dog park, they might come into contact with the viruses and bacteria that cause Kennel Cough and all the associated symptoms—including more dangerous outcomes, like pneumonia.

To help your dog defend against these infections and recover more quickly, vaccinations are your best course of action! 💉

And if you notice your dog coughing around two to three days after interacting (even briefly) with other dogs, visit your vet for a quick check-up. It's best to treat Kennel Cough sooner rather than later, so it doesn't develop into worse, more dangerous symptoms.
