All of our 4 pens have been flooded. We’ve been bombarded 3 days in a row with none stop day and night rain.

Today the foundation didn’t hold up and the 4x4 barrier couldn’t hold up more water. I came to let everyone out to free range , cause the sand now is basically mud.

Sadly, we still expecting more rain throughout the weekend and I have no idea how to get the pens grounds back to normal.

No, this is not straight rain into their coops, this is a 30 feet’s long structure building divided in 4 sections, completely roofed and I promise you can be sitting there under a storm without getting a single drop inside.

This is all water in movement through the sandy ground of Florida. My yard is basically an open flat field. At the end of the land we have a water canal where the water flows through. But there’s been so much rain that it impossible to not get sunken into it.

Thankfully no losses, different than a bunch of wet eggs with mud that will be washed out and will attempt to hatch. Cause this girls still laying near of 16 plus eggs a day.

I love the rain, but at the same time not the overflow of it. It also opens the door for mosquitoes increase and worst than that, fungus. This are the odd of farm land that nobody talks about .

Do we agreed that paid pre-orders for eggs is a scam?
Cause if we can figure out that the hens will laid the exact amount of order that we are getting paid from previously, that’s a detail that we all need to know.
Cause gurl that there is a good business!

Fast check up before bedtime and getting the gists into their pen. They definitely make it fun over here.

My backyard pillows. They look like a pair, but still not sure if they actually are 🤣.

If you hatch chicks and are unprepared to deal with excess roosters, you have no business hatching. Period.

I have so many hatching eggs. If any local needs some , please pm me. Mostly mottled variety, chocolate, white, blue and black.

Any baby chicks feed recommendations? I’ve tried a couple, but lately I’ve been having issue with some of the “famous” brands?
Been doing this for many years now and this year the feed that we’ve been getting at our local stores have been rough.
