Choosing a pet sitter? A few thoughtful questions can make all the difference! 🐾

Pet Sitters International’s 2026 State of the Industry Survey found average U.S. pet-sitting revenue grew 11% to $112,423, and 78% of sitters are optimistic about 2026. As pet sitting grows and there are more sitters to choose from, here’s a helpful checklist:

✓ Are they insured and bonded?
✓ Do they have Pet First Aid/CPCR or equivalent certification?
✓ Can you meet before booking?
✓ Will you have a written care plan and clear expectations for daily updates?
✓ Do they have experience with your pet’s specific needs: medications, senior or special-needs care, or exotic pets?

At Pet Concierge, we’re fully insured and bonded, Pet First Aid and CPCR certified, and bring 10+ years of experience serving Wesley Chapel and Tampa. Our care is one-on-one, in your pet’s own home, with no overbooking.

What do you look for when choosing a sitter? We’d love to hear from you!

Your pandemic pup may be entering the middle years, and this is a wonderful time to give their wellbeing a little extra attention. 🐾

Royal Canin research conducted by Censuswide in March 2026 found that 55% of pet owners avoid thinking or talking about their pet aging because it feels too sad. Another 38% believe nothing can be done about the aging process. But midlife is a meaningful window: healthy habits, weight, mobility, and regular veterinary checkups can all help support comfortable aging.

October is Pet Wellness Month, so consider this a gentle reminder: you don’t have to wait for your pet to seem old before checking in on their wellness. Your veterinarian is your best partner for checkups and an aging plan. And steady routines at home, with caring attention to little changes in behavior or habits, can help you notice when something is different.

How is your pandemic pet doing in midlife? What do you wish you’d known about your pet’s middle years?

Overnight pet care, explained. 🌙

Our new blog post walks through what actually happens while you're away for the night: the evening routine, the night companionship, the morning routine, and everything in between.

Here's the short version:

Your pet stays home. A concierge stays with them, exclusively, for a 12-hour or 24-hour stay. Evenings look the way they always do: dinner on schedule, medications given on time, a walk or playtime, and settling in for the night in their own bed. Mornings look the same: breakfast, a bathroom break, a little energy burned off, and daily updates with photos so you know how the night went.

Why it matters: anxious pets, senior pets, and medically fragile pets do better in familiar surroundings than anywhere else. No new smells, no new kennel, no disrupted routine. And because we never overbook, your pet gets one dedicated person for the whole stay, not whoever's free that night.

There's a bonus most people don't expect: someone is home. Lights on and off, mail brought in, a presence in the house. Home security support comes with every overnight stay.

Quiet doesn’t mean “set it and forget it.” 🐍

Snakes may be independent and easy to miss, but responsible care still means paying attention to the details that keep their routine consistent.

Every reptile deserves species-specific, individualized care. That means following a written care plan, checking the enclosure and water as directed, observing behavior, maintaining familiar routines, and respecting each animal’s handling preferences. Some snakes love exploring. Others prefer to be left undisturbed. Both deserve thoughtful care.

At Pet Concierge, our personalized approach extends beyond cats and dogs. We have cared for boa constrictors like Java and Harlow, and Dr. Boaz’s own ball python, Sweet Potato, is an independent, curious explorer.

If you have questions about your reptile’s health, always consult an exotic-animal veterinarian. For care while you’re away, clear instructions and careful observation make all the difference.

Beyond the fur, every pet has a routine worth knowing. 🐍

Pet anxiety is now the most commonly reported pet health condition in the U.S.: reported by 19.6% of pet owners, ahead of obesity and arthritis for the first time, according to the 2026 Bloomberg Intelligence US Pet Survey.

For an anxious pet, familiar comforts can make a world of difference. Their own bed, usual mealtimes, favorite walking routes, and a calm, consistent caregiver help keep the day feeling reassuringly normal. 🐾

That’s one lovely benefit of care at home: your pet can stay close to the routines and surroundings they know, with drop-in visits or overnight companionship shaped around their needs.

Does your pet have a delightfully funny little habit? 😄

We meet all kinds of characters on our visits: the cat who supervises from the top of the fridge, the dog who treasures one very specific toy, and plenty of lovable personalities in between!

Share a photo of your pet in the comments and tell us their funniest quirk. We can’t wait to meet the stars of your household! 🐾

A little Halloween prep can help keep your pets safe, calm, and comfy! 🎃

• Keep chocolate, sugar-free gum and candy (which may contain xylitol), wrappers, and candy bowls out of reach, especially bowls sitting at nose height.
• Check decorations for tempting hazards like cords, glow sticks, fake cobwebs, and candles. Keep them well away from curious paws and mouths.
• If your pet wears a costume, make sure it doesn’t restrict movement, breathing, or vision. When in doubt, a festive bandana is a lovely alternative.
• Trick-or-treat traffic can mean a busy, open door. Set up a quiet room away from the entry, and make sure ID tags are on before the evening begins.

If you think your pet has eaten something unsafe, contact your veterinarian promptly. Wishing our Wesley Chapel and Tampa neighbors a safe, happy Halloween week!

As our pets live longer, we’re learning to notice the small changes that can come with their golden years. 💛

Senior dogs and cats may seem disoriented or get stuck in corners, pace at night, become more confused by familiar routines, show appetite changes, have accidents indoors, or engage less with the family.

These changes can have different causes, so noticing them isn’t a diagnosis, but even a small shift is worth mentioning to your veterinarian.

During regular in-home visits, caregivers may be among the first to notice a change in a pet’s routine or behavior. A little extra patience, familiar routines, and cozy comforts can help make each day feel more secure.

Here’s to supporting our beloved seniors with care, comfort, and lots of love!
