We would like to congratulate Taylor Moore on being our 2025 Southeast Iowa Draft Horse and Mule Association Scholarship Recipient. Taylor is a senior at Washington High School and plans to attend Iowa State University where she will be majoring in Elementary Education. Taylor is very active in the horse community. She volunteers at numerous events such as, Midwest Old Theshers horse area, Festival of Lights horse drawn wagon rides, Old Iron days and the Kalona spring and fall horse pulls. In addtion to her numerous volunteer activities, Taylor helps on her family farm where they have a breeding program and raise horses. Taylor also participates in 4H and is very active in FFA. At the Washington County Fair Taylor shows her riding horse as well as draft horses in 4-wheel wagon hitch class. Congratulations again and best of luck with the future endeavors.

When you bring home that grey and buckskin horse to the herd and the well broke horses are scared of them and don’t even want to come close to the barn to eat 😂

Iron M Drafts is owned by Todd and Jennifer Moore. We live near Wayland, Iowa and have 2 kids who are avid horse lovers just like us. We are a family owned farm. We have Percheron mares who will give everything you have all day long, from mowing, raking, working the saw mill, threshing machine, carriage rides, showing in 4H. We currently are raising foals which are out of our mares and Registered Suffolk Stud Red Prairie Star 3523-S. Todd has been working with horses his entire life and with draft horses for over 20 years. This past year we helped promote the horse driving community by helping get youth involved by helping sponser a horse driving clinic for the Washington County 4H clubs.
