Kingsman Bark (formerly Capitol Hill Hounds) is a volunteer-run nonprofit helping to maintain and improve Kingsman Dog Park at 13th and D NE.

Need something to look forward to? Ready to picture a city not covered in snowcrete? Is your pup missing their friends? Well Kingsman Bark is here for you!

Join us on Saturday, February 21st at VADP for some off leash pup play time. We will then make the short trek to The Brig for beers, snacks, and lots of heat lamps for an afternoon of fun! While no formal RSVP is necessary, we would love to try and get a head count to make sure we have reserved enough space so please email [email protected] if you plan to join us for The Brig part of the event!

It’s that time again: our fourth annual Paws & Pints Holiday Party, but this year we will be gathering at ! Tickets available at the link in our profile with a $10 suggested donation to support maintenance of the new dog park one the construction is over. We’ll have Santa Claus back again (care of ) for your holiday photo memories, make your own pup cups, homemade dog treats, and even snacks for the humans. Holiday attire for you and your pup is always encouraged!

The more, the merrier, so spread the word to your fellow dog pawrents (or any crazy dog aunts, uncles, and friends!) 🍻🎅🏼🎄

Come join us for a Post Turkey Pack Trot on Sunday, November 30th at 10am! We will all benefit from some outdoor time and since our park is still closed - we will combine a little pack walk with some park play time.

Please let us know if you plan on joining and meet us at the grass area near the bridge. Lots of free parking is available near the dog park or on the street. And remember, dogs must be on leash for the trail trot part of the pack walk!

It’s finally (hopefully) happening after 3 years, a few late starts, and a lot of wishful thinking by all of our park pals! We will continue to provide updates on timeline for completion as we have them from the city. While the park is closed, be on the lookout for more pack walks and social gatherings and definitely checkout our map of dog friendly spots to try out with your pup!

Join us at annual Howl-O-Ween costume contest and parade at Lincoln Park! We will be providing pup cups (while supplies last) and park updates! Please join us for a fun filled Saturday afternoon!

Join us for a fall pack walk to explore the National Arboretum and meet some park pals! We’ll meet at the parking lot closest to the National Grove of State Trees Picnic Area.

After getting some steps in, we’ll head over to Atlas Brew Works Ivy City to say a farewell cheers to a beloved dog-friendly business - don’t worry, they are just moving to a bigger space in the Bridge District.

Dogs must remain leashed at all times. All are welcome to join, so feel free to bring a friend or make a new one!

THE DAY HAS FINALLY ARRIVED! Our park renovation project will begin on Tuesday, September 16th and last through December (date tbd). While we are disappointed to not see our park pals every day / week at the park, we will be hosting place walks and other fun activities while we wait for our brand new park! And please check out the link in our bio for dog friendly places to take your pup while the park is closed.

In advance of our upcoming park renovation project, Kingsman Bark has created a list of dog friendly places that you can take your pup (link can be found in our bio). These include other dog parks, hikes, wineries & breweries, restaurant, etc. in the neighborhood and surrounding DMV area! We will also be planning pack walks and other activities while the park is closed - stay tuned for more details soon.

We know everyone is anxiously awaiting the start of the project. The city and its contractor have entered into the permitting phase and, depending on how long that takes, they are currently expecting construction to start this month and continue through December 2025. In addition to the dog park being closed, a majority of the field will be closed during construction.

We’ll keep you posted as soon as we get any further updates from the city!

It’s been a few months, but as we excitedly wait for our park renovation to start… we realized the park needs a little love to keep it ready for pup playtime. Join us Sunday, August 17th at 4:00pm for some weeding, gravel raking, and other chores. We will take any hand or paw we can get for this one!
