At only 1 1/2 years old, Ducky has a heart as big as his smile. Friendly, smart, and full of life – he’s dreaming of a home where he can finally belong.

Ducky was brought into the shelter in July as a stray. He is very house trained and very friendly. Ducky is recommended for a family with kids 14 and up.

Shelter Bio:
Ducky is a 1.5-year-old terrier mix bursting with personality and love. He’s energetic, affectionate, and always ready to play, greeting new people with happy wiggles and a big smile. Ducky knows “sit” and is eager to learn more, though he’s still polishing his leash manners and can get jumpy when excited, especially around toys and treats. Ducky would shine in an active home with older kids who can help him channel his enthusiasm into fun and training. With guidance and plenty of playtime, Ducky will be a loyal, joyful companion.

🐶 and first met Teasley, one of the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter’s longest residents, several months ago.

Teasley is searching for a forever home after spending over 600 days in the shelter system. He is a 4 1/2 year-old terrier mix who is playful, sweet and affectionate. It might take him a moment to warm up, but once he does, you’ll be met with soft gazes and a whole lot of affection. Teasley is recommended as a solo dog.

There is an adoption red carpet event dubbed “Lights, Camera, Adoption!” at the shelter on Saturday, June 6, where Teasley, his sister Bella, and many others will be available.

Teasley is a sweet, affectionate 4 1/2 year old terrier mix searching for a patient, loving solo-pet home where he can truly shine. He may be a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly and rewards you with soft eye contact, happy wiggles, and lots of affection. Teasley is playful and people-focused, happiest when he’s by your side rather than chasing toys. He already knows sit and has been working hard on his leash skills with staff and volunteers and making great progress! Because he’s still strong, Teasley would do best in a home with teens and adopters willing to continue his training and socialization.
