❤️ PEEWEE represents how compassionate Last Hope volunteers can be, and how frustrated sad situations can leave kind helpers..💙
This friendly 4 mon black beauty boy belonged to a man in Wyandanch who couldn't afford to feed him. He offered PEEWEE to our volunteer who cares for a cat colony nearby. She didn't hesitate to take PEEWEE.
The man mentioned he was living in the area with a small group of people but they had little food for themselves.
The Last Hope volunteer promptly went shopping & delivered groceries to the house.
While there, the man showed her an orange kitten inside related to PEEWEE. She offered to take PEEWEE's brother,
but the man declined, saying he wanted to keep the orange one & breed him.
She is not finished trying to convince the man to surrender the orange feline fellow.

BONNIE was adopted Jan 4th by a lovely family. The son who has wanted a kitten for a long time was turning 10 yrs old.
When they came to the Cat Center, BONNIE reached out & chose him.
Instant Connection..
BONNIE has other human children as playmates, and soon a Doodle dog.
BONNIE is one of the 3 Town of Brookhaven Shelter kittens Last Hope embraced to make room for a hoarding situation's cats that were coming into Brookhaven Shelter.
BONNIE was 14 weeks
old when she came to Last Hope just before Christmas.
She found a home on
January 4th- a fabulous way to start 2026 .

"Foster-to-Adopt" is a paw step away from a Forever Home.
He is one of our trio of 3 Texas rescue pups transported to LI last month. They became Last Hope's "share" of 9 pups on that long transport.
Besides our 3-CORKIE, FANNIE, DIMPLES, 3 more pups stayed at Kent in Calverton & 3 others went to Save-A-Pet in Pt Jeff
Station. CORKY is 14 weeks old
now. He is snuggling with his family at home, and will be neutered Sooooon.

Just before Christmas, Brookhaven Shelter asked Last Hope to help free up cat cages because they were going to take in cats from a hoarding situation.
Linda , Last Hope prez, chose 3 unrelated, older kittens...KEITH was one of the lucky trio.
He is handsome & friendly.
Not sure if KEITH knows the other 2 have already been adopted.
KEITH is 6 months old & would love to become a homebuddy too.

That's how her Georgia -sending shelter describes OLIVIA.
This sweet 1yr old weighs 35 pounds (full grown). The shelter sends OLIVIA as their ambassadog to promote adoptions at off-site events.
She is clean, calm, well-behaved, a great family fit.
You have to meet OLIVIA to see for yourself that she is the perfect pup package.

This 7 month black parlor panther with 14k gold eyes came to Last Hope via Town of Hempstead Shelter in September after someone found him in a Levittown yard when he was 3.5 months old.
OSBOURNE wants lots of people to meet him at our Wantagh Cat Center, so he decided he'll start singing his namesake's song:
" Mama, I'm Coming Home",
in hopes crowds will gather for his kitten concert, and one of fans will really take him HOME.

🐈 LAST HOPE $35 LOW COST TNR Clinic at our Wantagh Adoption Center Parking Lot on
SUN. January 18th .😻

A veterinarian & vet techs in a mobile hospital will be performing these spay/neuters.

The cost is $35 per cat.
Last Hope is holding spots for the public with no more than 3 cats per caretaker.

🏥 Please note Last Hope made certain changes to our TNR clinics, explained briefly here with more detail in Last Hope website link below-
● Cats will receive basic TNR-spay/ neuter surgery, ear-tip, rabies & FVRCP vaccine for $35.
Do NOT bring microchips or request FeLV/FIV testing.
● Litters of kittens that will be adopted are not permitted at van clinic. Strictly for ferals.
*NO KITTENS*

All cats at this Last Hope TNR Clinic will be ear-tipped (to identify their altered status ).

PLEASE NOTE: Arrangements should be made to allow for cats to recuperate humanely after surgery - females need a few days and males at least 1 full day.

Linda found delightful MARBLE, then 5 months old, outside a restaurant.
MARBLE is a darling 7.5 month old tortie, waiting for someone as delightful & darling as she is to walk into Petsmart Huntington & discover her there.

👑 PRINCESS has never been treated royally. She deserves a fairy tale life from now on. Her story is so Heartbreaking. 🏰.
This 2yr old, 45 pound Pittie had 9 puppies in a Georgia shelter. All 9 puppies died..not sure why.... but they may have been malnourished or ill.
PRINCESS was immediately placed on the euthanasia list because the shelterwas overcrowded.
This shelter reached out to Last Hope, knowing a reprieve was a long shot anywhere because Mama was a Pittie. They said Princess was very sweet.
Letty , our dog coordinator, was touched by PRINCESS' tragic tale. The poor Mama dog was added to Last Hope's pup passengers.
Then one of the Georgia vans had mechanical trouble & our transport was delayed a 1 week.
But PRINCESS was safe .Last Hope had committed to take her.
All because Letty took pity on a Pittie...who turns out to be as sweet as her sending shelter promised she would be.
Last Hope Dog Center is her temporary castle of caring.
Soon the PRINCESS wiill need a her forever fortress home, shielding her against cruelty & neglect.
