✨WizCon 2025: A Celebration of Growth, Connection & Impact✨

We just wrapped up an incredible few days in Tampa for our annual owner's conference, and we’re still feeling the energy! From powerful keynotes to hands-on workshops, this year’s conference was all about growth, connection, and leveling up as business owners.

💡 We reset our culture.
📈 We embraced new tech & AI.
🎭 We celebrated at our Masquerade Gala & Annual Awards.
🐾 And most importantly, we gave back.

The biggest highlight? Together, we raised over $2,500 for Suncoast Animal League—a no-kill rescue that’s changing lives through adoption, therapy dog programs, and critical medical care. ❤️

This event reminded us why we do what we do. The Dog Wizard is more than just a brand—it’s a family dedicated to making a difference. 🚀

Our Story

Mountain Sanz and Don Miller are the Owners of The Dog Wizard Virginia Beach. Both Mountain and Don served together in the Marine Corps over several deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan where they developed a bond that you can’t help but notice when you are around them.

During their time in combat, they got to see first hand what a well trained dog can do. Their dogs were trained to find IED’s (improvised Explosive Devices), but they were also well trained in obedience. Being around those dogs laid the ground work for what would be the beginning of finding a purpose after they left the military.

Shortly after Mountain left the Marine Corps, he had a friend reach out and ask for his help with an unruly dog that was having issues. From that moment on, Mountain realized this was the path forward for him. He had found his purpose. Since that time, he has been recognized by his peers and the dog community for work covering the entire scope of dog training from obedience and behavior correction to tracking and scent work.

It took Don a bit longer to find that purpose. A few successful stints in business and the corporate world were enough to make him realize a normal desk job just wasn’t for him. Through the years Mountain and Don had stayed in contact and then a simple conversation was had. “How do we combine what we are both good at and maintain our sense of purpose?”
