It took some time to get here! Plenty of decompression, separation from brother he was bonded too, slow introduction via crates and gates, walks together and sessions together with muzzles on and Winston is now ready to start joining daycare so we can evaluate his needs even further. Congratulations Winston you worked hard for this reward buddy and you totally deserve it 👏

This weekend has been super eventful for Cody! Friday marked 7 days straight with no accidents in the house or crate! He is now peeing, pooping and crating on command and really enjoys having a regular routine he can rely on. Saturday was his first Spa Day, we were skeptic on how that would go since Cody hasn't been a fan of rain or water in any fashion seen arriving here just under 30 days ago but once again Cody shocked us all. He wasn't super excited about the water part of the Spa Day but he sure loved all the rubs that came with it not to mention all that attention that came along with his pawdicure, ear cleaning and nail trim. He did so well for the bath and blow dry as a reward he went for his first ever Pack Walk too which he was again was a super star by not reacting to any other dogs, squirrels or birds. He does however need further leash training as you can tell he is inexperienced there and tries to throw his weight around which we found out on Sunday was more than we even expected. Sunday he met his new vet and got ALL vaccines updated and he weighed in at a whopping 68 lbs. Trust me if you ever meet this short bully in person you would not think he weighs that much lol. However this stocky boy has learned to use his weight to push his way out of doors, gates and bathtubs in the past and he has and will try doing it again if it works but he is also heavily food motivated and is extremely eager to please so he is a joy to work with and be around. Again due to his special needs we will be heavily screening all applicants to find the perfect FOREVER FAMILY for Cody but please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have. I am not always on Facebook so if I don't get back via Facebook right away you can always reach out to Blue Horse Mukwa Equine Retirement and Rescue Center who has made his new life a possibility and not just a dream and or you can contact me directly on my website rightontraining.com

Cody has graduated rehabilitation training! He is ready to start reviewing applicants for his forever home could this be you? He is not a fan of being caught...

Oakley is definitely starting to show signs that she has decompressed. Tomorrow marks 4 weeks she has been out of the shelter. 2 completely with us and daily visits from her new dad Sean Uren and 2 now going home nightly with him and on weekends! She definitely knows she has found a new daddy and she is testing the boundaries in every way. She always enjoyed a good fence fight with the Littles behind us but while trying to impress the "new humans" in her life and hoping to secure herself a stable home she had excellent recall from the fence! We've seen her do it and we will get her back there soon. It's actually good to see a dog decompress and finally feel comfortable to be thier true self around you without fear or judgment. If you recently adopted a dog roughly 4-6 weeks ago and you are seeing new unwanted behaviors please don't give up on the dog please know that just means they finally feel like they are safe and found thier forever home don't make them wrong just contact us if you need help!
