It is with a sad heart that Dr. Walsh, Blanche, Cletus and the staff, announce that Jaime Carpenter is set to retire after 30+ years at A Pets Friend Animal Hospital. Jaime, and her husband John, are becoming “Snow Birds” for part of the year. They will be in Virginia during the sunny months, avoiding the hot parts of Florida. Being born and raised here, she will never leave the place she belongs, so she will be around and maybe you will spot her at her favorite Publix when you are out and about.
As you know, Jaime has been my right-hand man here at APFAH. I have spent multiple sleepless nights praying that this day would never come. This is so hard because not only am I losing my best friend and confidant, I am losing the hardest working, dependable employee that you could ever be blessed with having.
Even though we have been referred to as the “Bickersteens “or as a version of “Tony & Tony”, fighting and cussing at each other, we still worked together so fabulously and effortlessly. Jaime stuck through my multiple health issues as well as the many ups and downs of Veterinary practice.
Jaime will be working until the 28th of May…the end of this month…if you would like to stop by and show her your appreciation for all that she has been to you and most importantly to your fur babies over the years. Jaime has simply been a one in a million to all of us.
The physical nature of being a Vet Technician job has taken a toll on her and she has decided that retiring and traveling with her husband and fur babies is what will be good for her physical health as well as mental health. No wheelchair for her! 😊
Thank you, Jaime, from me, my fur babies, my staff and all the clients and babies that have come through over the years and have been touched so deeply by you. You are forever in my debt. You will be missed by all.
Love you to death,
Doc
