Marano Animal Hospital He believes that the most influential force in his life leading him down this path was his mother, who was also his best friend.

THE HOSPITAL'S ORIGIN

Dr. Marano has been passionate about animals since he was a young child and decided in high school that he wanted to dedicate his life to their care and well being. Dr. Marano's mother (known to everyone as Ma) was an avid animal lover and enthusiast who appreciated the innocence and unconditional love that our pets provide daily. It was their life dream to open a family run

veterinary hospital that would try to ensure the well being of these very special rays of light. Unfortunately Dr. Marano's mother has since passed of cancer, but he has vowed to continue to pursue their dream with the opening of Marano Animal Hospital. The hospital will be family run, with his father as practice manager and his wife as assistant manager and receptionist. The hospital will be dedicated to his mother's memory and the initials "MAH" will serve as a reminder of her presence as "MA's Hospital!"

🎆 Holiday Closure & Fireworks Tips for Your Pets! 🎆

Marano Animal Hospital will be closed on Friday, July 4th, and Saturday, July 5th, in observance of the holiday weekend. We hope everyone has a safe and happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸✨

Fireworks can be scary for pets. Here are a few tips to help keep them calm:

🐾 Walk dogs earlier in the day before the fireworks begin.

🐾 Keep pets indoors and create a safe, quiet space for them to hide.

🐾 Close windows, draw the curtains and play calming music or white noise.

🐾 Make sure your pets’ ID tags and microchip info are up to date in case they get scared and run off.

🐾 Offer comfort, treats, or favorite toys to help distract them.

Friendly reminder: If your dog or cat is anxious around fireworks, please don’t wait to arrange to pick up any needed sedatives or calming medications. We want your pets to feel as safe and comfortable as possible!

Please plan ahead and give us a call if you need any refills or advice before we close for the holiday.❤️🐶🐱 Stay safe and enjoy your celebrations!

🐾 Teamwork makes the paw-dicure work! 💅
Dr. Marano and June, the technician, work together to keep this big fluffball calm and comfortable during a nail trim. Regular nail care is important for your pet’s health, and with a little love (and a lot of fluff), we make it a stress-free experience! 💖🐶

Here are some ways to help your pet be more comfortable with nail trims!

1) Start Slow!!! Let your pet get used to having their paws handled—gently touch and hold them during cuddle time without trimming.

2) Use Positive Reinforcement. Reward with treats, praise, or play each time they allow you to touch their paws or bring out the nail trimmers.

3) Introduce the Tools Gradually. Let your pet sniff the clippers or grinder. Turn them on (if noisy) without trimming, and reward calm behavior.

4) Trim One or Two Nails at a Time. Keep sessions short and stress-free. Even trimming one nail per day is progress!

5) Make It a Routine. Regular, calm practice helps your pet associate nail trims with positive experiences, not stress.
